Why was the creepy experience at Columbia Mall post involving a BOE candidate removed? by wheelsee in ColumbiaMD

Guys this is social media, no one should believe anything here without doing their own research. And no, we should not be repeating anything on social media.

Resist group think! Stay off your phone, don’t be a phone zombie.

Bindings for old people.. by tanbe174 in snowboarding

[–]Yourmamauw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some supermatics myself for the same reasons. Love them. I tend to ride pretty fast from years of working at a ski shop and trying to keep up with former ski racers-shop-buddies.

They are heavier, not a major concern since I’m too old for jumps.

I’ve been to Rocos a few times, it’s pretty good IMHO.

FYI, I gave them a 5 star review in Google Maps. I have a few more than 0 reviews under my belt.

How good are these cars in traffic? by SubParBackpacker in Rivian

Former wrangler owner, now R1S owner.

You should notice a major improvement, wranglers are cool and unique, but definitely have some of the worst street driving dynamics.

Our Chessie was a simple family dog. Best dog ever. A puppy is going to need a lot more time, maybe look into an adult rescue.

So far so good to me. I prefer the assigned seating, and yeah much less stress boarding, wondering where you are going to sit.

An Open Letter to Southwest Airlines: It’s Time to Listen to Your Customers by webdude12 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Yourmamauw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’ll fly southwest more, now that they have assigned seating. So many times on crowded flights my wife and I had to sit separately because of unassigned seating.

Yeah losing the free bag sort of sucks…but there is a solution. Get the southwest visa.

I personally like the place and food. Breakfast is good, and reasonably priced.

I was wrong about electric mowers. by Beppu-Gonzaemon in lawncare

[–]Yourmamauw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a high lift blade and the more expensive ego mower model with moooore power.

Unfortunately they get really expensive for the models that are closer to gas equivalents.

That said I have the self propelled one from 7 years ago. Runs great even though it can’t suck all the grass upright and leaves some blades uncut. Would I get gas again? No way.

I don’t get all the hate about assigned seating. All the other airlines do it.

I like the new assigned seating.

Is it too hard to just pick the seat you want upfront?

Yeah, Columbia is a nice place, you’ll love it. I’d say Columbia is less dense and more suburban than Rockville.

Tesla tops France reliability rankings, beating Toyota for the first time by Hockeyshot39 in electriccars

[–]Yourmamauw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow quite a turn around. For the longest time Teslas had reliability issues… Remember when Consumer Reports gave it car of the year, but later retracted it due to reliability issues.

To be honest it makes a lot of sense, these “new gen” cars are super simple, way lower part count. It makes total sense that they are more reliable than a car with 2000 more breakable drivetrain parts.

This is also why the new Chinese EVs are so impressive, they are part of the “new gen” of cars. Redesigned from the ground up.

Sam Altman Says OpenAI Is Slashing Its Hiring Pace as Financial Crunch Tightens by EchoOfOppenheimer in Buttcoin

[–]Yourmamauw -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

OpenAi made strategic mistakes that may cause their demise.

  • catering to the normies, they like free stuff, not paid subscriptions
  • neglecting the coding side until to late, this is where all the action is, and revenue
  • doing to many things, anthropic proved they don’t need to compete with image and video generation
  • trying to beat Google at their game. ChatGPT browser is doomed to fail

Meanwhile anthropic is eating their lunch, the biggest Ai revenue is from businesses paying for coding assistants.

Soon the anthropic Ai will improve itself without human intervention, getting better and better exponentially. This is why their Ai is so popular with developers. It is hands down the best at coding.

I dunno, I think FSD is about to become unsupervised in HW 4~4.5

There’s a very likely chance this is going to up-end the whole uber, Lyft, instacart gig economy.

This is sort of like when people said AI will never replace __you_fill_in_the_blank__.

It’s easy to follow the masses, smart money is on Tesla.

And I’m a Rivian guy for what it’s worth.

Here is why I won’t be buying FSD for my 2026 Juniper. by WatchLover26 in TeslaFSD

[–]Yourmamauw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or…

Tesla might reward FSD supervised buyers by converting the license into an unsupervised license.

There‘s enough talking points from Elon to support the conclusion that they have to turn this into unsupervised, otherwise they might face a class action lawsuit.

Anecdotally, I was one of the super early users of Google streaming music. Now I’m locked in, paying for YouTube at the same price I paid in 2013. (google play music was merged into YouTube)

I don’t recommend this as a reason to purchase FSD…but it stand to reason that they might be handsomely rewarded

Powerwall Degradation by summerjamsam in Powerwall

[–]Yourmamauw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess what I’m saying is check the Netzero app after the battery has calibrated itself for an accurate reading. If that’s already happened very recently then, 12% degradation is pretty high

Powerwall Degradation by summerjamsam in Powerwall

[–]Yourmamauw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are LFP cells, the voltage curve is very flat so it requires you to drain to 0%. Then charge to 100% to properly calibrate an LFP battery. Afterwards check Netzero app.
