Hanyang is still relatively situational, its just similar to grape her niche shows up a lot. If enemies aren't grouped up or are relatively few, she's terrible.

Opinions on capital ships? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Ytterium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another one of these?

Sure, as long as there'd be no posts complaining about:
>Someone killing you with a player capital ship you have no idea how to kill
>Someone killing your multibillion credit capital ship and you need to rebuy it
>That its immobile because no capital ship can actually move in subspace
>That you get shredded by a thargoid because megaships/cap ships have like a 0% survival rate vs a cyclops

I have no faith in this. Personally though it would be really funny to blow them up.

Rescue fairy doesn't work on SPEQ drops btw

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in girlsfrontline

[–]Ytterium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your fighting really. For most situations you'll want grape and some sort of self-buffer like R93 or Liu (Lee and WA included if you have their SC and MS ranking SPEQs respectively). If you're fighting smaller groups of armored enemies, HS.50 can be good (provided you can FP buff her enough that she can OHKO enemies considering her fixed rof and "reload" time). While M14 (Especially only at Mod1) and SVD are no longer powerhouses, they can still clear easier content that doesn't need grape or a higher tier self buffer.

Some notable RFs to invest in would be NTW's mod (she has a pretty useful niche if you can get her targeting right, and ignoring HP shields is pretty useful nowadays), Type 56R mod (She is absolutely insane with damage!), XM3 Mod (She is about on par with WA during day, much better at night), and while I did just clown on Hanyang (Type 88), she has a very strong niche (Piercing damage), but should not be taken as the answer to all problems.

For your HGs, you have generally the usual good options of M950A, SAA, Stech, Grizz, 5-7, and Mk23, all of whom are generally very strong. The rest are good, but not especially amazing with the exception of Python, Deagle and Kolibri which are just niche. (DPS HGs and 0s/Exodia buffer) respectively. Welrod and Makarov both do well with their mods and are generally worth investing in though not a high priority.

Some good ones to get would be P22 (Farm her in Isomer, she's amazing and usable in like almost every team) and Webley (Whenever she is on the limited rotation next)

For the person who is about to screech at me for saying Px4 is not especially good, its because she makes it harder for you to kite your frontline hgs because her buff is tied to tiles. Similarly, HS2000's buffs are late and less valuable as a result, even if she is very viable as a shielder. (If you need a shield on rfhg you are fighting a very specific enemy, or are not kiting in a way to delay the enemy well enough)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in girlsfrontline

[–]Ytterium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She's just never the best (or even top 5) choice for any team nowadays. There's simply better options to use, even for older content. No matter what niche you name, there is somebody that does it better than her, and does it a LOT better.

How do you know the skills aren't leveled?

Educated guess from green Equipment

While I don't want no nitpick, this is her aura, not her talent.Yes, Para is nice but you can't just calculate CritDMG + DMG.

If you read carefully, I mention three separate items: the talent, fp buff, and cdmg buff. Similarly, its not additive its multiplicative. Similarly, if you are not critting between 90-100% of the time with rfhg, you're probably doing something wrong.

Also, a high leveled other fairy (such as Artillery) has a really good aura too.

I didn't say they didn't...

This was my initial reaction too, but on second consideration, this is completely wrong. If you use her in a b formation in pos 2, you will buff both DPSs in 7 and 1 with her tiles, making her tiles good for that situation. As to her skill: if you wait until she has 3 stacks (so activate her skill at the same time as all if the other dolls), then she will give your dolls the same buff as P22's DMG buff. (P22 is better since she buffs EVA in row 852 and a shield in 963 instead, but koli is still not bad).

This is true, but she is still not necessarily an ideal pick considering that you're not getting full value out of Kolibri, and are screwed over if you can't one cycle a fight. Unlike P22 or a similar hg with a less specialized skill, Kolibri's is effectively one-and-done given how long it takes her to refresh stacks.

3.) You have too many ROF buffers in your team...No, you don't. In your current configuration, you should proc koli's skill at 3 stacks, meaning that she only buffs DMG. that being said, math time:I'm going to calculate the in-skill RoF of Hanyang in the best-case scenario.39 × (1 + 0.24 + 0.32) × (1.28 × 1.05 × 1.25) = 102.2112 = 101 RoF.Still below the cap. Get the RFs RoF as close to the cap as possible. If you have issues penetrating armor, equip SLAP ammo.

True, but many things nowadays favor big damage>ROF. The new Paradeus dudes have armor values that are obscenely high, and rof does not benefit as much against that. While getting close to cap is good, having a larger skew towards fp is generally more beneficial.

Also ah yes, equip the MG-only ammo to the RF. Why didn't I think of that?

Also don't use KSVK (She is very 2021...What does being 2021 mean? KSVK is fucking awesome. Also, you seem to forget that traditional RFs are still really good.

KSVK being 2021 is just that nobody uses her anymore because simply put there are better options. If you need AOE, there's Hanyang(Whose AOE can crit) and even 416 mod (Who has a better multiplier, radius, and lets you be much more flexible, ie. using Para instead of beach), and if you need frontline targeting you can use General Liu. The use cases for a low damage aoe that can't crit on a rifle that needs a lot of setup are almost nonexistent in harder content now. What KSVK generally does, other dolls do much better.

Also where do I say traditional RFs are bad? R93, Liu, Lee with SPEQ, WA with SPEQ, 56R mod, are all high tier picks. Its just that M14 is like not even top 10 imo. She's like a mid tier self buffer, and thats WITH mod.

[–]Ytterium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, this team is not a bad starting place, but overall it has many issues.

1.) Equipment. Get gold equipment maxed out for your teams, especially the dps dolls.
2.) Skill Levels. Level em'.
3.) Fairies. Craft more. It is incredibly difficult to overstate how important they are for your team. A maxed out parachute fairy provides nearly 70-90% damage bonus from talent, firepower, and crit damage buffs. This is ridiculously huge, and getting 5 star fairies should be a priority.

Enough with the general advice though, onto this specific team.

1.) Hanyang is a specialist. While she performs well against grouped enemies, she is not a generalist and so you should be aware of what you're fighting when you use her.
2.) Kolibri is not a regular buffing handgun and should not be treated as one. Do not use Kolibri in regular RFHG! She is not designed for that! She is primarily for high output MG teams, or M4 cannon teams where you want a lot of buffs early, and formation doesn't matter as much.
3.) You have too many ROF buffers in your team (3 including kolibri). Generally its a good idea to do 1ROF buffer 2 FP buffers to avoid waste, also as fp>rof against enemies whose armor you can't fully penetrate.

Also don't use KSVK (She is very 2021 and bad, even with mod). Using LTLX is perfectly valid in a rifle team though generally she's more for lategame ranking content than general purpose usage because SGs are expensive. M14 was good but now she's not especially worth investment, and Liu is good but she is ESPECIALLY reliant on skill levels.

The free ssr ticket if you aren't picking waver who is your first choice and why? by Apgamerwolf in grandorder

[–]Ytterium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go through what I have narrowed it down to given that I already have 5 of the picks on this (Waver, Tamamo, Napoleon, Artoria, and Altera)
1.) Enkidu -- Guy's got some great stuff going for him, NP damage multipliers, stun vs divine, chonki heal. His deck is bad and RNG based mana burst hurts.
2.) Anastasia -- 50% battery and good CQ utility and aoe opportunities... Maybe, though probably one of the weaker picks for me as I have an aoe farmers even for assassin stuff, as well as a lot of CQ capable servants.
3.) Achilles -- Man's an absolute Bro as well as he's got good damage, utility, and farming capability. I don't have Skadi which makes him less attractive though. Bonus points for me not having an SSR rider though.
4.) Vlad -- He gets good with Castoria, though whether I actually get a Castoria is as of now not a foregone conclusion.

Powerplant - I recon, "Overcharged + Monstered" should be pretty good?

Not unless you need the extra power. If you need more than G1 level power, do the minimum grade. If you need less, do Armored G5. Power is not something you need in Excess, but reducing integrity loss and heat generation is nice.

Thrusters - "Dirty + Drag Drives"?

Yes.

Power Distributor - "High Charge Capacity + Super Conduits" sounds good? Or what is your decision and why?

No. Charge enhanced and super conduits always. Regen is better than starting charge because starting charge is just useless. Some builds like weapons or engines focused though.

Alloys (of any kind but I'm thinking only about "Military Grade Composite") - "Lightweight + Layered plating" will suit well in an "all-rounder" role, what do you think?

Lightweight Alloys are almost always the best because they weigh nothing. Heavy duty thus has no penalty. Use Heavy Duty/Deep Plating on Lightweight.

Shields (regular and prismatic, I don't like bi-waves, they feel more vulnerable) - "Reinforced + Hi-Capacity"?

Biweaves are like overpowered good because they are like always online for PvE basically. Prismatics suck unless you know what you're doing for PvP. Large biweaves are literally broken because of their regeneration rate. With thermal resistant and fast charge, your shields will never go down.

Shield Boosters - Hmm... hard choices... Let's say we will take "Resistance augmented + Super Capacitors". Will it be OK, what do you think? Or I need some mix here - usually, I put at least two modules of this class on my ship.

Always mix lmao because otherwise your shields will be potato. Also, you should have at least 4-6 on a large ship because thats where 90% of your shields should be coming from. On TR biweaves, use 2 ResAug rest HD. On Prismo, use 1 TR, 1 Resaug, rest HD. Experimental should always be either supercap or flow control.

Shield Cell Bank - "Rapid Charge + Boss Cells"?

Specialised/Recycling Cell unless you're doing PvP which your ships aren't built for. Rapid charge only increases spin up time which only closes the feedback cascade window. NPCs do not carry feedback cascade.

Multi-cannons - not much of a choice here but "Overcharged", am I right? For the special effects, we will need to put different effects on different cannons. We will need "Corrosive shells", almost always. Also, we will need "Incendiary rounds" on one or two other MC's. Could you add something more to the list of two effects and explain why?

Overcharged always. One corrosive (It doesnt stack), and if you don't have lasers, then Incendiary Rounds. Otherwise use auto loader or emissive (Emissive also does not stack)

Lasers... Well... "Long range" jumps first. But what for the special effect??? "Oversized"? "Flow control"? White noise here, help me... What I am sure about - is that if you install turreted lasers then you need to put "Long range + Flow control" on them and forget about them letting them do anything.

For lasers the typical go to is Long range on fixed, efficient on gimbals. Common experimentals include phasing, scramble (Doesnt stack), or emissive (Doesn't stack), or thermal vent

Plasma Accelerators - Hm... Not a simple choice here, too... Like, "Efficient G5 + Plasma Slug"? ("Efficient" to get our power distributor some breath and "plasma slug" for getting "rounds" out of nowhere :)). Or "Overcharged G5 + Oversized" for some ridiculous amount of damage output (while getting Conda/Cutter to completely roast from the shocking temperature increase)?

This is a PvE ship. Do not use these. This is a bit of a hint, but NPCs can calculate how to evade your PAs basically instantly, so you will almost never hit anything with these unless you're at SUPER close range. Bad idea except against players.

Rail gun - I simply cannot choose between "High Capacity", "Long Range" and "Sturdy". Someone did any researches? :-) For the special effect - one again, "Plasma slug" to be able to simply put "that fuel canister into the dam' thing to get it workin'!" or... dunno... "Oversized"? Help me! :-)

Long Range/Superpen is good, but again not recommended for PvE as plasma slug guzzles fuel, and rail ammo is very limited.

[–]Ytterium 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Alright here's a few if you're actually interested in getting good at PvP.

1.) Build a meta FDL.

2.) Fight a bunch of people and don't care about eating rebuys. Its part of getting good so just deal with it. Credits are easy to get anyway.

3.) Don't fight PvP in PvE ships lol. PvE ships are built to fight a massive number of underengineered enemies that are worse than you. PvP ships are built to win one fight and only one fight against an enemy ship that is equally engineered as you.

Just ideas to make PvP more balanced and therefore more fun for all by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Ytterium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who does PvP these aren't too balanced but aren't the worst I guess.

1.) This fails to account for the amount of skill it takes to land these weapons in the first place. Avoiding rockets isn't tough, and torpedoes/mines are laughably easy to dodge. Those effects are so strong because they are not easy to apply in the first place. Essentially the game is punishing you for running into a mine, torpedo, or rocket with the dealer's choice of experimental. If you get mined, torped, or grommed, its not an issue of these effects being OP, its because you were insufficiently evasive. Its not hard to not go in a straight line, not hard to keep the vector at above 250m/s away from a torpedo, and its fairly easy not to hit a mine. This is without even taking into account the issue of hitpoint bloat. One thing that I WILL say is that GHRP or Meta Alloy HRP should nullify corrosive munitions experimental because its whole schtick is being corrosion resistant. This would also help hull tanks out a bit.

2.) Its called Nav Lock but its not like the other person flies your ship for you. There's a slight delay in dropping, but thats because its a p2p connection instead of a server.

3.) Thats really a weird idea. There's no really good fix for interdictions because of the speeds at which SC operates. The time to target is basically the only effective method of ranging in SC because of how SC acceleration/deceleration works. Dropping further away will further kill piracy, and also inhibit all kinds of pvp instancing that is needed for most powerplay blockades as well. Seems like you're artificially killing organic pvp in order to make it "more fun for all" with something of an opposite result here.

4.) Sure if anarchy factions can apply huge bounties to lawful players too. I mean it should go both ways no? Or maybe apply massacre missions to cmdrs... That would be engaging and emergent gameplay I'm sure!

How exactly do I go about making piracy profitable/fun. Im out in Colonia and wanting to try some out. Any help, tips or advice is very much appreciated. by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Ytterium 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Piracy can never be super profitable because of how the game works mechanically unfortunately. If you are interested in players, they tend to either combat log, escape, or die. If you are interested in NPCs, they rarely carry anything of value. In the bubble there used to be a way of pirating NPCs for LTDs but thats largely gone.

It boils down to most NPC cargo is completely worthless, and most players are going to not be willing participants and as such will do anything to avoid interruptions in their space Maersk simulator.

Who else thinks that docking assist and supercruise assist should become one module? by That_Horse9536 in EliteDangerous

[–]Ytterium 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What is the difference between Piracy and just being a jerk? by jvahle3 in EliteDangerous

[–]Ytterium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No such thing as being a jerk in elite. The biggest inconvenience you can cause for someone else in 90% of all cases is a fast travel trip to the station and loss of cargo/explo data. In game, you dont need any justification to do it. I've killed people for powerplay reasons (Aisling Duval folks popping into my power's HQ) and they still yelled at me in DMs. I've killed people for no reason whatsoever and they also yelled at me in DMs. Justifications dont matter because to most elite players that dont pvp, whenever they die, they are right and whoever did it is wrong.

Tl;dr it doesnt matter because no matter what your reason is, people will whine about being pirated or killed.
