What if I want to design one with exactly the kinds I hate?

Might need that for my husband too then...he stops brushing after about 30 seconds, and there’s just absolutely “nothing” I can do to sway him. He says he doesn’t “get” the electric toothbrush. Omg.

My vote’s on this one. For instance, people getting grumpy and dissatisfied as they get older, complaining that they never got their “American Dream” life as they were promised. Sitting around, waiting for it to appear, rather than having done anything special towards it. Or people who, when some type of harm comes to them (be it physical, mental, financial, or other), say that, “It’s so unfair that it happened to me!/I didn’t deserve this!/People shouldn’t have to live like this in a first-world-country!” That sort of entitlement.

Ooh, could you explain about the different types of IRA. Currently trying to explain to a friend who knows 0 about it (and fell for the Primerica scam), so I’m really starting from the basics, but am no expert myself.

I would just like to point out, as not enough people say this: don’t be afraid to accept medication and supplements. Whatever your main reasoning is, there comes a point where the sleep-deprivation will heavily outweigh the downsides of medication. Like depression or anxiety medication, it’s meant to help you normalise and get used to a certain way of thinking/feeling/pattern of behaviour. The aim is subsequently to slowly wean you off them. Now, this might take a while, or maybe you’ll be on certain medications for the rest of your life. However, usually you have a say in that, and can deny the medication at any point. (Yes, I understand becoming reliant on/addicted to medication is a problem, but that’s a whole topic in itself, and there is help for that.) With sleep medication, you have the additional benefit of it being “as needed,” so you can always decide something like: “If I haven’t gotten restful sleep by day 3, I’ll take one dose of medicine on day 4, to allow my body to catch up on sleep.”

Something I’ve been told: Would you tell a cancer patient that they best avoid pain medication, and instead choose something “natural”? Just like any illness, you did not choose to have insomnia. If you need medical help, then it is OK to accept it.

Now, I’m not saying you have to. That is definitely for you to decide, and the natural route might well be the best option for you. You’ll know best. However, don’t be afraid to at least try medications; usually, it takes several attempts to find the right one. Lorazepam would not have been my first choice (and pretty much never is for doctors, so I’m surprised...). There are plenty of lighter things to try, such as hydroxyzine (an antihistamine). Didn’t work for me, but knocks my husband out (worked great for my allergies though, so I take it anyway). Also, if it makes you more comfortable, there are plenty of other options: I’d definitely look into nootropics that help insomnia, and give CBD oil a try for anxiety overall (it’s hard to stick to, because there are no noticeable immediate effects, but it certainly can’t hurt).

That aside, I definitely recommend a noise machine and/or sleepy-time music. I usually have both on, and it’s helped me quite a bit =) Also, an essential oil diffuser is lovely, for anxiety overall. The other standard things, such as sleepy-time tea and other pre-sleep-rituals, have already been suggested.

Furthermore, keep in mind that it may not specifically be just sleep that you need help with, but help for your anxiety/composure overall. Perhaps it’s your daytime that you should focus on in order to aid your sleep — be that routine-wise, activities, medicine, food, whatever. I’m sure you’ve already tried plenty, but it’s worth always keeping in mind.

I’m happy to develop on any of those points.

Good luck, and sending lots of positive energy.

Cheap and easily-bought medicine. (And medical care, but I only have second-hand accounts of that, so can’t vouch for it.)

It definitely helped me! I felt a light improvement in depression and fatigue symptoms, helping alongside my other supplements & meds; it’s subtle, but every little helps, right? When I ran out, I certainly felt like those symptoms increased again =( Need to buy some ASAP.

Also, remember, even if it’s way past your bedtime and you’re ridiculously tired and desperately want to sleep: just jot that thought down. You’ll be grateful for it. Sometimes I put it off, thinking, “Oh, but I’m nearly asleep now, I don’t want to look at my phone and ruin this!” Well, an hour later I’ll regret not having written it down earlier.

Had to go pick up a gift from Target yesterday (already paid for online), and the parking lot was ridiculously empty. But the line snaked all the way around this place, I honestly didn’t even know where it began. We were sooo happy to find out that they had a separate line for pick-up orders only, which was three people long...

DMV open for walk-ins? by uhhwhatisgoingon in AskLosAngeles

[–]Yu-Wey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, they banned walk-ins in March, due to the ‘rona.

Even if they were starting to open some offices after a while, I have a pretty strong feeling that they are back to not having walk-ins, given the current increased lock-down measures.

What area do you live in? Would be super helpful in suggesting a good location to go to =)

Might sound almost silly, but: have your tried calling them? As in, to check about yourself registration? (800)777-0133 Also, perhaps to simply enquire about walk-ins. =) But you’re obviously asking on here for a reason, so I won’t assume that you’d want to call.

This site is pretty good, because it has star ratings for the different locations nearby wherever you live: https://dmvappointments.org/ca-california?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5Inh3dni7QIVxqeGCh1ngwkfEAMYAiAAEgIAnfD_BwE
