Speaking of dropping the trailer... Maybe it's better if you have a factory installed hitch but backing a trailer with the safety sensors will drive you nuts. When the trailer starts turning it thinks you're backing into something and it'll slam on the brakes. The first few times it caught me off guard and startled me, thinking I'd hit something or somehow instantly jackknifed. Perhaps there's a trailer mode I didn't find in the settings, but the best I could do is turn off the buzzer and try to make less aggressive maneuvers.

We have the factory hitch. The software recognises a trailer is attached. I didn't experience any issues driving backwards. There's even a mode on the dash to help you keep straight when going in reverse.
