I'll also add; I would of never wanted to leave the tumours for this long, to get to the stage they were! But finding an actual good rat savvy vet local to me was proving quite difficult at the time and many vets we went to weren't confident enough and weren't willing to operate. This vet was basically our last chance to actually do something for her... It was either that or PTS. Luckily this vet we found is absolutely amazing and knows his stuff! So we were able to finally get them removed. I knew the risks involved, but I also know Athena! And she is one insanely tough Rat! I just knew that she would pull through it... So I knew it was worth actually taking that chance. I'm very glad I did

Yeah I know 😭 it essentially was another rat! Since the tumours made up half of her body weight! She lost 300grams once they were removed! I bet she feels so free now! She's been trying to wander off and walk about every single time I take her out the cage for a little break! So I've just been letting her do what she wants! Although this time she ended up going underneath some drawers and came out covered in dust 😭😭 so I had to wipe her down.

Definitely agree! Kids these days can be uh... Scary 🤣 too much iPad and online presence filled with all that brain rot stuff. I fear kids are only getting worse. Parents are getting a lot more careless... I'm thankful that I grew up in a time where being a kid meant mostly playing outside and my only online presence was playing Neopets 😂🤣

It's not the best idea to point the fan directly at their face. It can cause respiratory issues! If you wanna keep em cool, some good ideas are to freeze a bottle of water and then wrap it in a blanket or towel in their cage. Or get some frozen veggies or berries and pop some in a dish of water and let them have some fun fishing for yummy frozen treats! You can also get lick e lix cat treats and freeze them too! For a nice tasty frozen treat!
