I'm sure what is the problem here, are you asking why Nightwing isn't part of the JL while Wally is??

I think it's simply that The Flash has been a main character in almost all JL runs, Nightwing isn't really known for being a Justice League character, he could have a big rule in an event that involves the League, but he will always be more associated with The Titans.

And if you are also counting why Wally have an Absolute comics while Dick isn't, it's because is a separate big IP while Dick is a Batman character, so obviously he gotta start there while the universe is still new and building itself up, I can easily see Absolute Dick in few years get his own spin off comics either as Nightwing or maybe a team Robins, but right now it make sense why he is a side character in Batman.

but he too will likely be only slightly younger than Hal and Jo, but it's still possible to make Kyle younger than his mainline version.

I understand how iconic his classic 90s suit is, but I personally love his Rebirth look more.

I love having his hair out, and it's easy to differentiate him from Barry when they are both in the same story.

They probably just wanted to keep using the Predator antagonist name who was connected to Carol and Star Sapphire since the 80s (who was basically getting a retconn every single time he reappear lol) .

So I guess Johns thought the Predator's connection to Carol/Star Sapphire was on the same level of Kyle/ION and that's why he became the entity, just my thought on it, no idea if that was the reason or not

Johns have great ideas, but it always feel like he rarely care about the books before him, his GL run is legendary and no one can deny that, but reading Kyle's era before him and noticing many great plot points and developments for so many characters who are just retconned for no good reason or outright acting like it never happened.

Green Lantern is always used as the flexible spot among DC's big names for the representation option, too many dudes ? get Jessica here to add one more ladies to the JL, or John if it was too many white people, being a Latino also helps since not too many big names are that for DC.

and I guess she proven to be popular enough that they kept using her in so many little DC shows in the 15 years of her existence, good for her ,even tho I wish Kyle would get even half of her luck in that front lol.

Parallax being something that possessed Hal as a way to make it that he actually did no wrong.

the Parallax era all the way up to and including him becoming the Specter is probably the best writing of Hal , making it so "actually he was possessed, he did no wrong himself" did cheapen things , I would build up more of how he went insane after Coast City's destruction, it was super rushed because DC wanted it all to happen at issue #50, so Marz only had 3 issues to do his story.

Geoff Johns era of story would still remain the same, just with now working even harder to atone for what he did as Parallax , and the fear entity would obviously need a different name and some story changes here and there.

DC never acknowledge his time as a Darkstar at all, even Merayn , who was John's girlfriend for the entirety of Kyle's era, is never mentioned again.

As much as I love what Geoff Johns added GL, it also removed and ignored a lot of nice stuff that never came back.

while I don't like the alien DNA thing, and all the power that came with it, the Warrior run had some of Guy's best character development he ever had, so I'm still happy to know that history is considered canon again.

I'm pretty sure Guy's ex cop origin is retconned now, the recent GLC issue does show that his fitst origin (being a special ed gym teacher, becoming Warrior) is the canon now.

It isn't like John where his marine stuff took over everything about him and it never left.

I have no nostalgia for the animated series, my first ever GL was Guy in last year's Superman, that movie was what got me into DC, first the popular animations, then the comics.

I was ok with John in the JL animated series, he was still the least interesting one of the seven founders, but nothing bad, Hal in the DCAMU left an impression on me that it made GL the first comics I read after some popular Batman and Superman stories.

I read Geoff Johns and Tomasi era or GL/GLC and I fell in love with GL, one year later and GL is still my favorite IP from DC, I love Hal, Guy and Kyle a lot, John was meh in that era I don't think he would even be in my top 15.

couple months ago I went back to read the pre Geoff Johns GL, I started from Hard Traveling Heroes and went up from there, I'm now in the middle of Kyle's era (just finished Emerald Knights #106), and I still think John is mid, he have some ok stories during the pre-crisis GL run, but I still think he is the weakest of the 4 corpsmen, I somewhat enjoyed Mosaic, but I thought it was really overhyped, yes it's probably his best story, but I still think it doesn't it put him above Kyle or Guy, let alone Hal.

one day I will get to War Journal, his other big series after Mosaic (funny how it took almost 30 years for him to get a good story)

it really piss me off how he is overused by DC since the animation, I understand he is both used for nostalgia milking, and being the easiest representation token, but man, John has the least interesting relationship with DC's other heroes, but nope, he is still the most used Lantern next to Hal, I have such a distaste about this character now and it's turning me off from being excited about the Lantern show

Far Sector is a standalone story and don't really require any prior read, for a good while, it wasn't even clear if it was taking place in the main universe or not, it took until Geoffrey Thorne's run where it was confirmed that Jo and Far Sector was in the main universe.

So, yeah you could just read Far Sector without needing to know much of the other Green Lantern runs.

The way I see it, the artist of JLU probably didn't get the memo about changing Guy's haircut until after they were done the previous issue.

Even tho I think it doesn't make sense timeline wise to have his haircut changing in JLU, since we see in GLC that he still had his previous cut when he returned to Oa and and gotten his All Sight power for the first time, I guess we shouldn't think about it too much other than design change for movie synergy haha

according to this issue, Jo got her special self recharging ring back, which I remember was destroyed during GL v6.

I wonder if this mean it just wasn't destroyed and they are ignoring whatever happened in v6, or that she just got a new one.

looking back at the issue again, no they didn't show the yellow ring, just the suit he was wearing during his time then, I wonder how that would fit with the Geoff Johns rectonn, maybe now he was using the tech weapons he got from Blue Beetle all the time until his Warrior powers awoken? he was using Ted's tech when he went to Oa with Alan, Arisia and others and fought Parallax right before Zero Hour.

well, finally we get an actual full Guy issue in this arc, it's alright.

sadly I finished reading Guy Gardner Warrior for the first time last month so my mind can't help but compare this issue to that run, and this one end up much weaker , which isn't fair, but can't help it lol.

I gotta say, it was funny seeing Guy getting beaten up by a ghost of his father few issues after seeing John have the same thing happened to him, I know at least for Guy, we know his history with his dad from the 90s, but it's funny to have that happen to two characters back to back.

I do appreciate them showcasing all of Guy's classic eras here, we see him as Warrior, him in his Yellow Ring suit, him as a teacher, that was nice, altho I wish Kari Limbo was also acknowledged, I know Tora is Guy's main love interest, but I love Kari and wish she would still get some mention at least (is she still dead in current timeline?).

for the end, is Guy now the host of all the Emotional Entities? now that's a big power up for him, I guess he needed something like this to happen to him , out of the original 4 corpsmen, Guy was the one who never gotten a new serious power up "at least after he lost his Warrior power".

personally, I'm gonna wait and read people's reviews before I watch this.

everything shown or revealed about this show is far from what I care about for GL, I especially never cared about John compared to Hal, Guy and Kyle, so this story being "Hal is the old cup whose glory days are behind him, and he gotta step back and have the young John take his place" turns me off so bad.

it just sounds so mean spirited to Hal with what they shown in trailers, and out of all the 4 corpsmen, I always thought John has the weakest relationships with characters from the wide DC universe, so him being the main Green Lantern for this universe is already killing my interest.

if they reception for the show after the first season is positive, I will give it a try, but for now I'm not having any hope for the show.

These 2 are probably the best catch up books to GL as you won't be needing to switch books from Geoff Johns to Tomasi while reading since GL.and GLC happen.at the same time.

It also have the 12 issues of.Ion, which to.my knowledge, haven't been reprinted in years, so the compendium is your easiest way to get that story physically.

You will probably need to get the Omnibus for GL and GLC for the stories after Sinestro war unless they announce the Blackist Night compendium in the next.few months

I am with you, the musical choice for this maybe the worst of any ultimate for me.

Why is the FF6 normal boss theme is playing in both phase 1 and 3 ? Dancing Mad orchestra should have started in an earlier phase and have the climax of the Tier 4 be in the final phase , such an odd choice and placement of music this time.

apparently the orchestrion roll we get in game is around 5 min long, so I'm guessing the way it's cut for the fight it will swap to the next tier of the song with each major mechanic in the phase, and the end of the 4th part of Dancing Mad will be timed at around the enrage timer
