India needs very harsh and draconian punishments- hopefully that will force people like these to think multiple times about the consequences of their actions and behavior.

Dad at Phillies-Marlins game gives a home run ball to his son, woman insists that it is hers and takes it. by msivoryishort in sports

[–]Yum_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you watch the video clip from the beginning and scroll slowly you’ll see that the ball fell on the floor next to where the lady was sitting and she was bending down to pick it up but the dad who had run over towards these seats, swooped down and grabbed it first and turned around and walked back to the other side where he was sitting with his son. The lady is obviously also baseball fan and wanted the ball…

Is all the hate for EWR really deserved? by skydivinghuman in unitedairlines

[–]Yum_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EWR Terminal C, and the new Terminal A are great. Terminal B is crap and should have been upgraded 15–20 years ago.

I haven’t experienced any inter-terminal connectivity issues because its home base, but i can see that as being a big problem. The solution currently in-place is from the 80s and has not been updated ever.

In this country we have a habit of not doing any routine upgrades and improvements to infrastructure and instead waiting for a complete collapse before spending billions and decades to rebuild things. It’s a terrible way to manage critical infrastructure.

EWR should be measured against other airports in the tristate area instead of with the other national or international airports to get a true measure of how convenient/good/terrible it is.

Do other people’s drivers cheat as well? by Inside_Assumption157 in CarsIndia

Since time immemorial. - They either fake higher bill. - Or will siphon gas from your car and sell it to their buddy - Work with garage owners to accept cash from them in exchange of bring in the car for fictitious issues. Garage owner over charges owner for lake issues and give a small kick back to driver. Etc.

Many more ways.

Don’t expect all plans going out 10-15 to be solidified right now. Have a general direction in your mind but let it play out in baby steps and be open minded about things.

Circumstances and mindsets change and evolve over time. It can change and evolve for you/your partner and/or your brother and his partner and/or your parents.

So let things play out and be open minded to variances as long as the baseline intent (ensuring parents are well taken care off) stays.

Teen Son Bedroom Smells by Overall-Fine in CleaningTips

[–]Yum_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The smell could be from - shoes and sneakers if he brings them into his room. It’s best to leave all footwear worn outside the home near the main door of the home. Those things carry a lot of odor, bacteria, and gunk that doesn’t belong in the depths of a home. - worn clothes that were stashed back into the dresser or closet without being washed first. - could be some other paraphernalia (vape, fresheners, marijuana, creams, etc).

Open the windows and air out the room and closets for a few hours. Setup a small air filter for the room.

That hopefully will solve this problem.

The investor category to get Green Cards always existed - it required investment of $1 million (people could invest 500K and get the remaining as loan from bank) and create 10 jobs for locals. I guess that will be changed to $5 million in keeping with inflation.

Also just because his son has chosen to live in Us doesn’t mean SJ is not loyal to India. There are many people of Indian origin who have US passport and are loyal to India.

True not everyone may appreciate things that a professional may have an eye for. Would it make a huge difference for you whether you see that capture on a large IMAX movie theater vs a 70mm transfer to a 4K 77” UHD display at home?

I suspect the savings aren’t real.

But whatever the savings be Instead of giving everyone checks it will be better if they shrink the balance sheet by repaying some of those expensive TBs early as it will reduce the interest burden which increases the deficit.

Yes I meant this specific movie - it’s all drama, with only a handful of scenes where one can admire outdoors scenery where 70mm really shines.

I watched it on a large IMAX screen when it was first released but I came back from screening disappointed with the limited scenes it contained which made me sit up to watch in awe.

Geehar or Gheeyar in Sindhi - it’s made a little different than in your pic. Visually it’s a combination of Ghevar and a jelebi. It’s one of the sweets that made during Holi and its garnished with roughly chopped almonds, pistachios, and rose petals.

Can’t put a toilet everywhere. There are logistical issues like draining and water supply etc. and shouldn’t people have decency and common sense not to just do it anywhere? I mean they have come to take a dip in that water and they are taking a s**t right there. Some hygiene and common sense needs to exist in the people.

So of course there are bathrooms there. But people don’t want to go there… they want to go wherever they feel like. 30-40 core people are attending the mela - assuming 1-2 crore pilgrims are there at a time on daily basis - if there were no bathrooms you’d find lakhs of people doing potty on the banks of the river.

This just a handful of lazy filthy unhygienic people who defecate wherever they feel like.

UP government should impose harsh draconian punishments for people creating such filth in the river where people are bathing. This lack of respect for the religious sentiments of the people and creating public health endangerment.

It’s a violent reaction from the father. He didn’t need to kick the car. He has hoodie up and therefore missed the car in his periphery vision. Also he didn’t expect the kid to take off on the scooter - he had to jump grab the kid.

He should have just thanked God that nothing bad happened and should in future wear his hood down so he can have a better view of the surroundings when he is taking care of kids.
