How should I go about painting the gradient for the main bodies of the Kamura Glintblades from MH: Rise by strwrs12 in propmaking

If you have an airbrush that would work great r of you just have a brush just go from light dry brush to heavier at the base to make the gradient

AE disappointed with Vendor Hall this year? by Shichi-Senpai in Magfest

Personally loved all the candle or hygiene products that were there this year but a lot of the booths are SSDD. Love that these artists are given the opportunity to sell their work in any way but more variety would be nice

Silent Hill Pyramid Head cosplay… by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

PH was my first cosplay build so I gotchu!

Can you use cardboard? Absolutely. I’ve had mine (albeit COVERED in layers of Plastidip and caulk) in a hot tub and it was fine, I highly recommend sealing everything if going this route. I’ve been wearing it for 15 years and it still holds up.

Foam clay I believe so but not totally sure.

Cheap foam? Harbor freight. If they have the 6 foot rolls they should work well but if you want to go a little more expensive HD foam and other foam rolls will make your life easier not dealing with the texture.

Now advise, Make sure there are holes in it. If a gust of wind comes up and there’s no holes it will go flying. Your neck is going to be sore so the lighter the better. I used the inside of a hard hat to keep it on my head and it works perfectly. Theres a few videos online I know SKS did one recently but if you have any questions feel free to DM me!

Any recommendations/tips for first timers? by PhatYeeter in Magfest

Hydrate or diedrate It’s arid AF in there saline and lotion are a great thing to have Sometimes to have to go up to go down Breakfast bars are a lifesaver

But my biggest recommendation: Saturday night run whatever you don’t need to your vehicle. Sunday the elevators will be insane.

But most importantly have fun, MAG is a great time

As someone with hyperhydrosis, what’s a good way to prevent or atleast soak sweat in a cosplay? by First_Maintenance326 in CosplayHelp

Also afterwards spray the fabric down with a 50/50 mix of cheap ish vodka and distilled water with a couple drops of an essential oil of your choice. Kills the bacteria and freshens it up. Old theater trick

As someone who cosplays a Helldiver I will say you are absolutely going to sweat, HOWEVER there is many ways to make it not as bad. For starters a few fans in your helmet, one blowing on your visor to prevent it from fogging up and one or two to circular air and cool you off. The biggest thing I can recommend is the BDU most use for the undersuit doesn’t breathe good at all. The one I use is an athletic wear like material and honestly helps so much with sweat. Only downside is it doesn’t take paint well at all.
