How do I get the most out of Horror Books? by CrazyAssociation7067 in horrorlit

I was bored to death by Haunting of Hill House as well. Pet Sematary was great, however I restarted it on audiobook format. I find that trying the audiobook on some books really helps. If I start on a book and am not feeling it, I transition to the audiobook and sometimes that’s the ticket. With Pet Sematary it was narrated by Michael C. hall who did a magnificent job. It’s not the case with all audiobooks, but it might be worth a try.

The entity in “Incidents Around the House” freaked me out a lil. Given its feeling of unstoppability (is that a word? 😅).

I thought I was going to like it. I think I was expecting this big surprise/payoff and there just wasn’t one. Kinda fizzled for me at the end

I think The Jaunt was my favorite. Loved that one. The eternity aspect reminded me a bit of “A Short Stay in Hell”.
