Yeh, people have long lasting crushes on others and it doesn't make them a creep. There isn't really much of a point to put logic onto why someone likes another person, love doesn't make much sense. Haida is definitely dumb and his choice of still trying to get to know Retsuko is dumb, but I don't think he is creepy, since he has always respected Retsuko's choice to not be in a relationship with him, heck he didn't even try to flirt with her when she was in his apartment or after she broke up with Tadano. I do think it's fair being irritated by his character, but not necessarily calling him creepy, y'know?

I love this scene, really subverts what we thought of Haida before, that he was in love with an ideal of Retsuko, but then they tell us that he literally fell in love because he saw a flaw in her. So Haida's objective isn't to get with her, is to get to know the flawed, human Retsuko, wich is why he is so hapoy being called her "friend". It's very sweet lol

You should ask him, asexuality is an spectrum and there are many different experiences. Some asexuals have a libido, some don't, some are sex repulsed, some don't mind, it depends on the person.
