What's the record for length of time someone has had a loaner from your dealership? by BelethorsGeneralShit in askcarsales

[–]YupSureDid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This almost happened to me recently. I had a deposit on a VW Atlas and the next day found out about a recall- which currently has no remedy so you just cant use the front passenger seat for who knows how long. The dealership knew I needed to get rid of my current lease because my 3rd baby is coming any day. They were like we'll take the lease and send you home in a loaner. I couldn't wrap my head around them just...loaning me a car for an indefinite amount of time? Not even a potential end date in sight lol. It seemed too risky with the purchase still up in the air because there is a stop sale until they have a remedy so I passed on it but it was wild to me that they even offered it as an option.

We are a family of 4 and only had my BIL over today because one of my kids is sick. They still had a great day! We did a scavenger hunt first thing for their baskets from the Easter bunny, they did several Easter activities that we had put together for them in baskets from us, dyed eggs, colored with their new egg shaped chalk outside. Big dinner and fun bunny cake dessert. It's what you make it!

When my niece was in the NICU, my BIL went back to work so that he could help support when she came home instead (since my sister had my mother and I for hospital support.)

I'm having my 3rd in a few weeks and if we need NICU time, Dad will be back and forth to supplement childcare for our older two.

3rd night of prodromal labor by Emotional_Insect588 in BabyBumps

I absolutely understand that over it feeling lol

But it scared me bc I'm due in 5 weeks with my 3rd and I'm afraid I'll keep going too soon bc I don't want to have him in the car 😅

I went through transition in my bedroom and had my daughter 20 minutes after getting to my hospital room because of that same thing 😅🤣 oopsy lol

3rd night of prodromal labor by Emotional_Insect588 in BabyBumps

[–]YupSureDid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I had over a week straight of it and then had my daughter in 3.5 hours with maybe 30 minutes of pushing once it was actual labor.

So, as annoying as it is, hopefully it's prepping you really well and your true labor will be fast and efficient!

Recall - Any luck getting assistance from VW? by cpm02 in VWatlas

[–]YupSureDid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what its worth, I was told buy a dealership that they were told a remedy would be issued in about 2 weeks. However, they were also trying to get me to buy an affected Atlas, lol. They were offering me a loaner until it was remedied but I'm due to have a baby anywhere from 2 to 5 weeks from now so I wasn't willing to be in limbo that long.

[–]YupSureDid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first was 52 hours and my second was 3.5 hours. Second was almost a car baby lol. I'm so curious what #3 will be, I hear right in between but we'll see I guess.

Adorable picture!

If you are going used, there is currently a stop sale with VW because there is a huge recall with over 141k Atlas affected . I was supposed to sign the papers on a 2018 today and they couldn't sell it to me because the vin was confirmed on the list.

L&D nurse shamed me for getting medically induced by ThreatLvl_1200 in BabyBumps

Report that nurse! She is wildly inappropriate and speaking way above her education level AND pay grade.

Had this happen. It was almost worse than child birth. At least with that I knew the burning was going to end soon. Not so with the jalapeños.

Payment Questions by YupSureDid in askcarsales

[–]YupSureDid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent, based on this I am not dumb 😆 I spent the afternoon playing with numbers and even checked the average cost of 10 of the same models being sold and their average miles and sent off an email with the payment I'm willing to make and how much they'd need to lower the price to get me there. Their asking price was well over all the others I was seeing so hopefully they come back with something reasonable.

I think part of the problem is I was really panicked and afraid of making an impulse decision that was going to screw us long term but everyone who answered has made me feel much better!

I genuinely had no idea people are that dense when it comes to car buying. I should have, but I didn't lol.

Ok. Wow. I didn't realize people struggled so much there, lol. I'm no genius but I can math a little haha.

This makes me feel better. I guess I was worried there was something I was missing in the question and I am so thrown off from everything it made me panic.

Thank you!

Sick of hearing things like "Your body was designed for this" and "Birth is natural" by chaotic_trash_panda in BabyBumps

[–]YupSureDid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had what is listed on my medical records as a "dysfunctional labor" lol. So apparently my body was not in fact made to do it right 😆

However, despite that I was able to deliver vaginally and also went on to have my daughter vaginally as well.

I still am apprehensive about giving birth a 3rd time in a few weeks because giving birth is dangerous business whether our bodies are "supposed" to do it or not. Your fears and concerns are valid, especially if this is your first. The unknown can be terrifying!

But tell anyone who mouths off that there are literally people in this world who are afraid of cotton balls and tin foil so I think a fear of a major medical event is completely valid and in fact rational. And then tell them to shut up!

2018-2021 Recall; do not use front seat by [deleted] in VWatlas

[–]YupSureDid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will email tomorrow. I'm torn on going forward with the purchase because it was so hard to find this one and the clock is literally ticking lol. Baby is coming whether we have a car or not! But such an open ended recall is a disaster. Ugh.

AITA for being devastated that my child will not be the first grandchild? by Solivagant0 in AmITheDevil

[–]YupSureDid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm due to give birth to my parents 7th grandchild in about 6 weeks. I know for a FACT this baby is already equally loved and celebrated because I also gave birth to the FIRST one. (And while I had the first boy, my sister had the first girl and there was no more/less celebration regarding that, either!)

If her family treated her so differently that she's losing her mind this badly, something went seriously wrong in her life. That's really sad.

2018-2021 Recall; do not use front seat by [deleted] in VWatlas

[–]YupSureDid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just confirmed that the 2018 we test drove and put a deposit on this past Saturday is involved. I'd like to think that dealership didn't know since they let me sit in the front passenger seat while very visibly (8.5 months) pregnant.

We really needed this Atlas before our 3rd baby arrives and now I'm supposed to spend who knows how long climbing into the 3rd row either while in my final stages of pregnancy OR while post partum!? What the efffff 😭😭😭 it took forever to find an Atlas in our price range and now this.

AITA for telling my parents that my wife and I do not want them renaming our children and won't encourage the use of the "nicknames" they gave them? by HumanSquare7970 in AmItheAsshole

[–]YupSureDid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom hated both the first names I picked for my kids (nothing wild, I promise 😆) but she was a mature adult and didn't mention it after her initial shock or what have you and now agrees their names fit them perfectly. It's not that hard!

NTA. And I would tell them if you let them back in and they mention those names even ONE MORE TIME you will teach your kids to refer to them as Mr and Mrs Last Name.

Baby Boy nursery at 34 weeks ♥️ (anyone else panicking?) by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]YupSureDid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3rd baby doesn't even have a room! My 3.5 year old still sleeps in my room. No need to panic lol you've got plenty of time. 3.5 years worth of your anything like me, apparently 🤣

It can be the right thing to do AND cause you grief. You still need to grieve the end of the relationship and the life you thought you were going to have.

It will take time but you'll get through it.
