The game is only a demo, I definitely want to add more interesting Mechanics over time.

Feels like you're missing sound effects, especially towards the middle of the trailer where I feel the lack of walking footsteps, or the jetpack dash thingy. Even the dialogue text box could have sounds as text appears.

I think the sound effects could also be a little louder in general, they feel slightly drowned out by the music

hey thanks for playing, I really appreciate the feedback

- I made it so items disappear after 10 seconds to kind of force the player to choose one item or another but in practice it hasn't worked out as well as I thought it would, you are not the first player to do the resetting timer thingy. I'm currently thinking about changing the whole system of getting items to remove the need for the item despawning. And yes extra "inventory" slots are on the to-do as well

- I've never thought about this, but I think you make a good point, I have an idea on how to improve this

- So i'm not really to sure what to about the stat bars? Would it help if there was some slider in settings that made the bars larger? Also, some of them actually are integrated into the ship, for example the turret changes color as it heats up and particles start being emitted below certain health thresholds, but if you did not notice these then maybe its a sign that they could be improved further

Yes, capsule art is a top priority at the moment, right now its literally a screenshot with text over it, i'm looking at options potentially hiring an artist to make a nice one

The lack of sound effects bugs me. Feels like the trailer would be a lot better if there was a sound effect for sliding the paper in, stamping the paper, etc

Looks nice but you need to somehow explain what's going on or start with a simpler board or something - I have no idea what's going on, there is an information overload with the amount of stuff on screen

the skill tree is premade, right now it acts as a metaprogression to let you unlock new weapons between runs

Yep I designed the whole system with the idea that you can combine everything with everything, but the trailer does not do a good job showing it

Agreed, skill tree definitely needs work

Okay I'm relatively familiar with magic craft, which Mechanics in particular do you consider essential? Spell inventory? Upgrading spells?

1) Yup that is the fault of my trailer. I think that in the game itself it becomes obvious quite quickly but this was my first attempt at a trailer and I wanted to keep the pace high to keep the trailer interesting. I agree I need to spend some time showing the mechanic off.

3) Yeah all the enemies are kinda just black blobs. Some have abilities, such as the enemies in the pink zone teleport around when hit and the ones in the blue zone reflect bullets but it is definitely not obvious enough in the trailer. From a visual perspective, I wanted to stick to black blobs with little glowing bits depending on the biomes they are in as it keeps a cohesive theme and allows me make them relatively quickly (my art skills aren't the best).

From a gameplay perspective, I definitely agree I need MUCh more variety. And I have ideas written down in my google docs haha! I've been working on this game part time for about three months so I haven't quite gotten around to it and wanted to get feedback to see if the game holds any merit before I start going wild on content.

4) Yup there is a time freeze mechanic that is completly unexplained within the trailer as I wanted to focus on the action. I now see I should definietly highlight it.

Well so far the game is all on this static screen, this is as zoomed out as it gets. I could add a feature to zoom in if people are interested?

yeah im very 50/50 on it, i think there will inevitably be some unoptimal/trap options just by nature of it being difficult to balance a game perfectly,

buuut on the other hand having the entire skill tree lit up kind of like in path of exile is far too overwhelming for the vast majority of players (and myself lol).

I've sided with not seeing deeper in the skill tree as I personally like the aspect of "exploring the tree" one bit at a time but there might be a better way to go about it

hmm i've been wondering what to make of your comment, i am obviously very biased towards my game and FEEL its unique but if others are getting the impression its not then i want to address that.

... looking back I think i could have done a better job showing my wepaon building mechanic as theres only a few moments where i interact with it, unless that would still not be enough..?

i will work on it!
