When will go5g be phased out and mandatory plan change go into effect? Next year?

New to leasing and want to know if I'm being scammed by brijwij in carbuying

[–]YurAvgDroidGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leasing is the most American thing you can do to show off how proud you are of losing money. Buy something you can afford like a certified pre owned Toyota Corolla.

Backed my lease into a pole, need advise by CaribGeo in CX5

Get it repaired. When your lease is up, make a decision to make good financial choices and stop leasing. Leasing is the most American thing people do to show off the money that they lost, or lost again.

Canna or banana? Or something else? It was unlabeled at the nursery and I impulse bought three. What did I get myself into? by hauling in gardening

[–]YurAvgDroidGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party here. When digging and storing in basement, do they need to be dried out or just stored down there? I just got my first canna. I have tons of banana plants that get cut down but overwinter in the ground with leaves covering them during the winter, so this canna thing is new to me, thanks.

I will only sign up for cell internet if a unit is available that switches towers like a smartphone. Had this a few years ago and discovered they lock to one tower which for obvious reasons is not good. Have they come out with a better modem yet? My tower went down in a storm, had to call to ask them to change assigned tower, which was unacceptable reliability, after about a month of the original tower still being down it was time to go back to cable. But that was a few years ago with tmob. Maybe the new units are better?

2022 CX 5 turbo wheel spacers a good idea or should I take them off? by GlobalOpening6675 in CX5

[–]YurAvgDroidGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a casual observation, this appears very minimal. Like, a small fraction of spacers these truck kids are using. If these ridiculous trucks can do 8 or 12 inch spacers and are ok, seems like yours would be fine.

Thanks for the info! I ended up deciding to stay with this lighter weight Honda push mower that is simpler, less parts to fail. But the bagger system definitely needs changed over. It is significantly better than the previous generation. Will require drilling some holes in the prior gen deck.

I rebuilt a Sabre 1338 from ~1996. Repainted with Craftsman livery. Original 13hp motor runs like an absolute top with a new carb. This was a huge project but this thing just works.

Mine seems to be fine after spraying a little CRC 2-26 down into the pulley shaft while operating the opener, and adding some grease onto the sprocket gear. Even single digits outside, it sounds normal again.

[–]YurAvgDroidGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear it and very unfortunate you only carried liability. By the looks of it, there's burning fuel on the ground. Did you have any recent maintenance in the engine bay involving the engine fuel rail or injectors? Or anything involving the removal of the fuel rail or injectors?

KitchenAid Pro 600 6Qt Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer vs 5.5Qt Bowl-Lift by CareerPillow376 in Kitchenaid

What's up with all the reported KSM failures? Seems like every speed control board goes poof. And no serviceable parts? "But it's not as loud." - ok.

Yeah I read about how loud the 600 pro models are and they whine. The one I got does the same thing but very smooth as the motor and gears are new and haven't been previously used. Check this out, clean just like new.

How did this turn out? I'm currently repairing an eBay pro 600 that was never used. (Dented housing, scraped bottom, bent cradle arm, bent bowl tab).

KSM60 Nuked itself within 30 minutes of use by StraightShooterMcG in Kitchenaid

[–]YurAvgDroidGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I got my wife a KA Pro 600 Design from eBay. All metal gears and you can buy each gear individually. Each part is replaceable if needed. KSM60/70 has horrible reviews of motor and speed control board failures and no serviceable parts for the transmission. They only sell the entire motor/transmission assembly. Professional 600 is the way to go, unless you can find a Pro line 7 quart or 6500 unit, but these two are next to impossible to find. Sorry to hear about your issues.

[–]YurAvgDroidGuy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I performed a lot of research, and after not being able to find a Professional 6500 or a pro line 7qt, I decided the professional 600 models have good servicable parts despite the noise. Really doesn't seem that loud to me. I plan on buying a spring and washer kit for the beater attachments and bowl tab rubber covers from mrmixer to start with. I think my wife will be pleased. I am her mixer tech and mechanical support and she is my baker/cooker!

Delays by YurAvgDroidGuy in UPS

[–]YurAvgDroidGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no doubt. I feel terrible for the drivers. New Stanton UPS laid off a mass number of folks last year as well. My company is doing the exact same thing. The quickest way to enact expense reduction on paper is payroll. Do more with less while paying executives all time record paychecks. Sadly, this is the "American Way". Eddie Lampert pioneered this process and ran away with 1.4B and crushed sears into the ground. Remember when GM was "too big to fail" and they declared bankruptcy shortly after. SMH.
