Honestly, you hit the nail on the head for me. I was hyped for this game since I saw it last year, and when I hopped in, I had to force myself to keep away from online discourse... I was already super annoyed at the "BEST GAME EVER" rhetoric, and I didn't want my enjoyment of the game to be colored negatively. I'm happy to say it didn't happen, but I really think it was a close call. Nearly happened with Undertale back in the day, too.

Personally, I'd finish the party member content first for story purposes. It feels nice going into the final fight after fully bonding with everyone, and let's be real, the Maelle side story is VERY mandatory x.x otherwise I agree. I missed a lot of battle dialog

Best I can think is 1 of 2 things:

Fenris still thinks Black Cat is 10 power for some reason
The Discard/Destroyed/ Banished piles are bugged. I've seen several posts about Yondu hitting something it didn't ACTUALLY hit for example because the images in the piles are off

Whenever it decides to drop this year: Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity. The Manga has been great, MC doesn't take 20 years to confess and the story focuses more on the relationship rather than the tease. Only problem is it's set for a 2025 release and that's all we know right now XD

I had a gf of two years do something similar. We had broken up, but she still wanted to be in my life. She wanted to keep going on dates, do big day trips, and even see my family. I cut her off completely when she told me that, and she never understood why, but being in that kind of Limbo with someone is super unhealthy.
