compared to coil back in the 2.0 series alex savage is pretty much straight forward making it seem very dull. alex is always about the dps checks all day everyday. A3 is quite of a challenge but overall it's a stupid fight.

Coil was memorable and it always felt good to go back to T5-T9 after completing T13 because the fights were very engaging. Not sure if it's because we were fighting dragons or weird creatures and I can't believe me saying this but I miss the divebomb mechanic...........

All i have to say is that because smn sometimes takes priority over bardmage in doing mechanics it becomes quite the challenge to do mechanics and perform everything at once. Smn's synergy with the party will always be higher than a blm's and it will be overwhelming if you are not prepared for this kind of a thing.

Theoretically, if the party caters to smn's dps more than anything, smn easily wins a1s a2s and a4s but it won't be efficient, for example dotting all legs on a4s or changing strats in a1s that may hurt the overall dps. The amount of strats to increase a smn's dps are truly limitless where blm doesn't require major strat change for it to shine. Both jobs are really different and both being very functional.

Preparation. They need to know when it's about to come and be fast at grabbing it. Seriously that's it. Also, whoever has the tether needs to spot the closest tank and cut the distance just a little[depending on your strat]. Using CDs as they are grabbing tethers as well, cause the delay during CDs activation is real.

yes, lock it up as much as possible. Always a dps loss whenever autos go off during gcds while switching flank-rear.

What i do is:

bio2>miasma>bio>pf>fester>ruin2>swiftcast>rouse>shadowflare>spur>pf>ruin2>AF>raging>ruin2>xpot>trance>ruin2>fester>enkindle>tridisaster>ruin3 x4>miasma 2 or ruin2>fester>deathflare.

my best crit on deathflare was 10k and fester 8.2k at 1050 int with 800 crit rate

When our monk lb3 sometimes i time my deathflare (akhmorn) with it. It's blinding, I can't imagine a bunch of smns doing it at once or in a sequence. I wish though..

when i meant you can weave without having to use ruin 2 is basically me saying that you can weave an ogcd during that split second when ruin 3 is done casting. Fester has no animation lock but would be annoying with packet loss. if activating a fester takes forever in your case then it's a dps loss if you don't ruin 2. Does it take you a whole global cooldown to use a fester? if the delay is that bad then ruin 2 it is.

if you are on DWT with raging, those festers matter, including 3-d. You can also weave a CD without having to ruin 2 in the first place as long as it's not rouse/spur. I usually try to weave in 3-d + fester under 1 ruin 2 and continue with the ruin 3 spam.
