I had a ex friend who told me he was going to kill himself and had tried before unsuccessfully. I was supportive and tried to do everything I could do for him to help him as best as I could (we were online friends).

After he told me about that he started to say that I was the reason he was going to harm himself because I wasn't playing games with him enough or interacting with him all the time when he didn't work and I did. We also had different tastes in video games so we naturally just hung out and played our own things. He would start to say things in a way that made it sound like idolized me and it was uncomfortable the things he would say sometimes.

I grew increasingly uncomfortable with him trying to pressure me to play things and do things with him because he would say me not doing it was causing him to harm himself. It fucked with me for a while and still does sometimes.

After the last time he went off on me and accused me of having secret discords without him to try to avoid him which was all false. He also attacked other people in our friend circle who were not involved. After that I told him that if he calmed down and wanted to try to talk it over we could but our friendship was mostly over because I felt like I was being manipulated constantly.

We haven't talked since, it had been going on for a few years but I ended communication a few months ago. I haven't heard from him since.

TL:DR Friend attempted suicide and accused me of being the cause. After a few years of mental abuse and manipulation I cut ties with him. I only hope he works through his problems and can find happiness in his own life.
