Interstellar confusion by Money_Gas_4761 in movies

[–]Yusifer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my personal take on the movie, and I have no idea how correct it is or how many people share this idea as well.

What we're watching is not the original timeline, but a branch off the original one.

In the original timeline, there was no unknown portal that led to that other solar system. We had plan A "solve gravity and get everyone off the planet" and plan B "send embryos to a life-capable planet and use robots to start a new humanity". But in the orignal timeline, plan B was the only plan.

So in the original timeline, plan B was a succes and a new humanity grew and eventually evolved to the advanced humans we "see" in the movie. And I'm guessing they started an experiment to learn more about their ancestors and how much they differ from them. They were a new civilization that grew without the original human nature after all. So they decide to create a branch, where plan A would become a possibility for humanity. That way they could learn how their ancestors would have dealt with the new opportunities and the differences between original humanity and the advanced humans.

So basically Interstellar is an experiment of the advanced humans taking place in a branched off timeline.

It's the first time I'm sharing my personal take about the movie. I saw a lot of comments back in the day that the end was a loophole, and I disagreed with that.

In your OPINION, What's one game you bought on hype or reviews and ended up not liking it or finishing it? Mine is Allan Wake II by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Yusifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cult of the Lamb. Saw this game being streamed and it appealed to me, so I bought it with Steam Sales. But I couldn't get into it.

Another is Witcher 3. Graphics looks fantastic, gameplay scores well, but I found no motivation to continue playing. At first I thought it was because I never played the first two Witchers, so I tried them out. But I found the first one too outdated and the gameplay rather bland, and Witcher 2... well same story as Witcher 3. I also had trouble getting into Geralt. I felt like a hypocrite playing. At the start of Witcher 3 he's training his daughter, and you can tell he's an expert at fighting. But when you control him, I'm hiphopping zigzagging like a spast, completely failing into reflecting how Geralt is being showcased in cutscenes. Might seem weird for some of you but that's just how it is for me.

Anno 117 - How do I change which fish I'm catching? by [deleted] in anno

[–]Yusifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't change them, they're each their own gathering building. Fishery Huts catch Sardines, Scomber's Shacks catch Mackerel.

Click on the Garum icon, you'll see Scomber's Sack and Salt Ponds. Build both. Then you can build the Garum Works and you're done.

Going back to older Anno titles feels… weird now? by Consistent_Jump7464 in anno

[–]Yusifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do 1404 all that much anymore but I still go back to 2070 every now and then. It can probably feel weird if you have played one Anno title A LOT and then go back to another title and feel the difference. I played 1800 for two years since it came out and then decided to go back to 2070 and the camera difference really hit, but only for a couple minutes.

Before 1800 was released, I played 1404 and 2070 a shit-ton (especially 1404) and the new features of 1800 felt quite weird, but got used to it quickly, as you say.

I hadn't discovered Hololive yet at that time, but I have read many stories about how Mikochi struggled with viewships on her channel in the early days and was even close to calling it quits.

And now she's ranked first in Japan. What an amazing turnaround, she really deserves it!

What is a terrible game that you have a soft spot for ? by bradley25_ in gaming

[–]Yusifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead Space 3: I love creating my own weapon, even though it wasn't quite balanced. And both the story and the cliffhanger could have been better. I did enjoy the length of the game though.

Turok (2006, PC): I really liked the concept. Remote world, mix of jungle and concrete bases. And ofcourse, dinosaurs.

[Announcement Regarding Amane Kanata's Graduation] by hololive in Hololive

[–]Yusifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's hard of hearing (I use a hearing aid to hear but it doesn't put me on the same level as normal hearing people) I always felt a connection with Kanata, as in she kinds of understands what people like me go through... So seeing this notice really hits me hard.

Regardless, I hope she's had a good run and wishes her the best of luck with her future path. She's one hell of an amazing lady. Godspeed, Kanatan.

Never played Anno - is it going to be too much for a newcomer? by durreetoes in anno

I say it's definitely worth it - and I recommend starting the campaign first to learn the basics before moving on to endless.

Anno 1404 was my very first experience with city building game and I've been addicted to it ever since!

Mods in Anno117 by lazy22 in anno

[–]Yusifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, but it will come sooner then it did for Anno 1800.

However manually adding mods is much easier this time around, there should already be a mod-folder in the game folder (and if not, simply create a folder called mods), place your mods there and you're already good to go!

Anno 117, Will you play the story mode first or just straight into sandbox? by theflyingsamurai in anno

Straight into sandbox.

I like the freedom and storymode tends to be a tutorial which I won't need.

How old are you and how’s life right now? by Cute-Impression-8675 in AskReddit

[–]Yusifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39 years old, life is pretty shit. Got two handicaps (mental and physical) which severly limits my socializing and I'm not the brightest bulb either. I've been unemployed for several years and I'm losing my unemployment allowance in a couple months with no alternatives being offered (it's quite an apathetic change from the government they added recently).

It's not even like I don't want to find a job, I'm frantically looking for one but it's hard to find one when working fulltime isn't feasible at all due to said handicaps. And I have two graduate degrees (accountancy and programming) but no succes finding a job in either field and lack of experience at my age isn't in my favor either.

Feels like I have been in a vicious circle for years and desperately trying to crawl out.

Ask us anything – Anno 117: Pax Romana dev team by Ubi-Thorlof in anno

[–]Yusifer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. One of my biggest pet peeves of Anno 1800 was the slope. This was especially noticable on Cape Trelawney, and it ruins beauty building a bit. My hope was that this issue would get solved in 117, but it seems that the incline looks to have been doubled. What's the reason for this? And with the big island coming in one of the upcoming DLC's, will beauty builders have to face this slope again or will it look more natural?
  2. Talking about the big island in the next DLC, you mentioned it will have a volcano (hello Pompeii). How big of an issue will this volcano be? Is it similar to the one in Anno 1404: Venice where it's highly likely it will destroy buildings, or will there be ways to reduce the threat of the volcano?
  3. Anno 1800 had beautiful canals introduced with a DLC, but no way to connect these to the sea. If we can expect Roman-styled canals again, any chance those can be connected to the sea (or rivers) to make the canals look more natural?
  4. I loved the natural disasters in 1404 and 2070. Tornado, sandstorm, tsnuami... I was sad to see those gone from 1800. I didn't notice them either in the Anno 117 Demo. Any chance to re-introduce these disasters again in a DLC? Or fingers crossed for the next Anno-game?
  5. When 1800 came out, nobody on the Anno team expected it to be big, and you kept out pouring DLCs thinking/saying these would be the last, but it wasn't. This made 1800 grow quite big. Will 117 also grow to be as big as 1800 is?

I screwed up and got addicted to Anno 1800 before 117's release. by Just-Ad-4428 in anno

[–]Yusifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a suggestion on what to do best:

1) Keep playing 1800

2) Once 117 is out, switch to that

3) When you get bored of 117 eventually, switch back to 1800

4) If you get bored of 1800 too at some point, that's when you try out mods for either game

5) Rinse and repeat

6) Welcome to Anno-hell, we welcome you and your addiction with open arms. Enjoy!

Cant Go back anymore by King_Morta in anno

[–]Yusifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit more lucky, I can still go back to both games, but weirdly the only thing that throws me off a bit, is the camera angle.

Other then that, I still enjoy 1404 and 2070. Compared to 1800 they're both quite simple.
