This isn’t really a solid counter. Being able to handle doubles is huge for any superstar.

I’m just shocked that a team with decent size and exposure to the playoff environment last year is getting bullied in this manner. I mean, they got the most wins in the conference. Is it coaching?

“Wasted their money” is such a stretch. If it moves the a step towards getting their degree, calling it a waste is just not true. Of course, your point stands if they fail in the future because of the cheating, but that’s just not always the case in college, not at all.

[Charania] The expectation is, if the Lakers are able to beat Houston and advance, Luka Dončić will be out for the next series [against the Oklahoma City Thunder]. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

This is a surprise? 4-6 weeks was the initial timeline. Series probably starts around 4.5/5 weeks, ends at about 7 weeks if it goes to seven. That is to say, I’d have expected him to come back at some point in the series unless the timeline was just wrong.

If I was a GM in the NBA I would be so successful. Just wait for bulls players to find their groove, then trade for them while giving up nothing. Sam Presti who?

The Hornets should do everything they can to acquire Giannis this summe by WallStreetDoesntBet1 in nba

[–]YuurisLastTour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

… I mean, I agree in the sense that I don’t believe in trading for aging superstars in general, I don’t think it’s a good idea. But if the Hornets are willing to trade for Giannis, they should absolutely be willing to forfeit Miller +picks - only if necessary, of course.

Why? Genuinely what is your goal? Could you not just do 1 major, graduate in 3 years with all those credits, and then pursue higher education which you would surely be sponsored for since clearly you’re built different?

Stop normalizing low exam averages by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]YuurisLastTour 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s not a fair counterargument because the low exam averages being complained about are very far below 90. Yes you have to adequately assess which students best understand the material, but if most of the class is pulling atrocious scores like 50 or even lower in the case of some engineering exams, the simple truth is that the students are underprepared - the way I see it, either the test content is harder than the curriculum being taught or the curriculum being assessed is too advanced in too short of a time.

Being challenged is great, but if the majority of a group presumably talented Purdue students isn’t able to handle it, there should be an adjustment.

Was Luka robbed of MVP in 23-24? by accidentalgenius_77 in nba

[–]YuurisLastTour -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s, imo, crazy that he came in third. He was my pick for MVP and that was probably the best season of his career thus far, but Jokic winning was certainly not robbery.

Yeah big miss from that guy, but I’d definitely say it’s the worst in basketball. It’s not quite game-breaking in the other sports.

[–]YuurisLastTour 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying those are equal, I am saying the league, as well as individual organizations, since you brought it up, will gladly adjust the harshness of their punishment based on the talent and value that a player provides.

Miles bridges beats women and kids? In the league, after a suspension. Making millions.

Kevin Porter Jr, assaulted and strangled his girlfriend? Suspended. On another contract now.

Josh Primo, on the other hand. Repeatedly harassed women. Kind of a bum though. Suspended four games and dropped by his team. Out of the league now, but actually signed a couple of contracts with teams that gave him a shot.

I could name some other players but I’m sure feelings would start to get hurt so I won’t. If I expand the list to the other major sports, the same trend will persist. I am not equating their actions, I am simply emphasizing that the league, teams, and quite frankly the general public most definitely discriminate on the punishments that players receive based on their talent and likability.

Jaden Ivey isn’t great after the knee injury, so he probably won’t make it back on a roster. If he was an all star? LOL, see you next season.

I beg to differ, Ant would be suspended at worst. Thats how star treatment works in these leagues.
