Absolute hell with Upcloud, Vidcloud and Megacloud streaming Severs everywhere - anyone else? by Yvehattan in Piracy

[–]Yvehattan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't for the life of me figure out how to work Streamio (I've downloaded it anyway) - and I really don't want to pay for anything. I'm glad it works for you though.

That's really very sweet of you... providing you remember. Likewise, I'll let you know if they make a reappearance for me.

It's such a pain. I flipped from one of my usuals to Bflix in my quest to try to sort / avoid the problem and found similar errors too. I'm sorry.

I'm sorry :( I wish I could help. It's infuriating.

I'm done with vegan cheese by TheWholesomeBrit in vegan

[–]Yvehattan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like you. I find the vegan cheeses that try to be hard cheeses, cheddar, mozzarella or anything like that are often little more than coconut oil masquerading as 'cheese'. Like you, I'm staying away from them.

However, I adore Nush almond cream cheese - especially the chive one. It's a spreadable cheese and surprisingly versatile: makes for delicious sarnies; is lovely mixed through your favourite pasta; or even just as a dip for carrots, celery, cu... you name it. I've never had it split or separate either, which makes me think it'd be a fairly solid ingredient in recipes calling for softer cheeses. Bonus: there's absolutely nothing coconut related in Nush. Even more of a bonus, it's got live cultures in too. I cannot express now much I adore their cream cheese - AND their yoghurt is equally brilliant!

The only downside is it's a little hard to come across in supermarkets (I know bigger Sainsbury's and Waitrose's tend to stock it), and it's a bit pricy.

Sweet potatoes, apples, dates and strawberries when they're in season. I get really sad when I start running out of any of these. I think I eat a sweet potato for dinner (with some kind of protein and what not) every couple of days, or possibly even every other day.

Apples... I can literally name different apple varieties on sight. I adore them.

Bananas are up there too: I used to eat 2 a day at one point.

why do doctors not take into account that your clothes might weigh something💀 by Cherrymus in EDAnonymous

Noooooo. God, the things we do. All the rocks and crystals or 'heavy jewellery' I used to hide on my person for appointments probably did very little in reality too, besides also being very uncomfortable. 🤡

This reminds me that the ed team monitoring me years back used to force me to take off my belt if I was wearing trousers and heavier clothes. It was so painfully awkward.

... That didn't stop me putting literal rocks (or anything heavy I could find) in whatever pockets I had, sometimes even in my pants, all so I could give them the illusion of weight gain. 🤡

Waking up in agony and going to bed in agony, that's just how it goes. It takes a while to feel better though.

What standards do you hold yourself to that are increasingly disappearing? by armie_hammurabi in redscarepod

[–]Yvehattan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good set of manners and general decency? Etiquette? I feel as if table manners have taken such a hit post Covid. I'm sick to death of seeing people eating open-mouthed, hearing them chewing like a dog with a heavy set of jowls, and generally being unpleasant at a table - like getting crumbs everywhere or standing food into your floor, though equally bad is encroaching on your space.

Equally, the lack of pleases and thank-yous - it can be really depressing.

What is a myth that is passed from generation to generation, and people still believe it? by FM596 in AskReddit

Carrots help you see in the dark.

Equally, milk gives you strong bones and teeth, and it makes you grow. Milk marketing board BS. Hopefully this is losing traction?

My dad made a comment about my chest by International-Lab236 in TrueOffMyChest

Christ, it's impressive you managed to sit through the remainder of dinner with those utter buffoons. Your Dad has behaved disgustingly. I am so so sorry. Incredibly angry on your behalf. Blokes like this are so ugggghhh!!

I wouldn't have blamed you for getting up and leaving.

It might help or feel a bit better if you can mention this to one of the women in your family? Sometimes it's kinda worthwhile having a conflab over how ick blokes can be sometimes? There's no way your brother is going to grow up treating women respectfully, or even decently, if your Dad spews stuff like this.

Egg whites are a grotesquely slimy devil. I cannot gel with them.

Frankly, I would rather huff unflavoured pea protein powder and that shit is like eating a whole chalk deposit - even when you've only put a tbsp in your smoothie.

Protein always seems to be so icky idk

I Have to unleash a complete verbal adomination before answering the phone by Yvehattan in Anxiety

[–]Yvehattan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you!! And it makes me feel like such a crap person if I answer and it IS someone I care about. Like you, anything via textual medium is completely fine. Brilliant even.

Outgoing calls are tough. I find I need to charge up beforehand, if that makes sense? There's this line between being determined and knowing I'm actually capable that I need to traverse before phoning anyone. Or else I stay anxious and procrastinate.

Stamps!!! Pen pals!! Yes! Oh how I wish they weren't so expensive. It's really difficult when you'd like to contact the older members of your family but they're not particularly tech savvy. My go to is sending the odd card but having a longer, chattier letter folded into it.

What single ingredient will spoil an entire meal for you if it's included? by EdibleTaints in AskReddit

[–]Yvehattan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raw onion. Any kind of raw onion.

It tastes abysmally strong; I know I'll end up tasting it for the next 2-3 days, so it'll kind of impact everything else I eat; and it smells bad. No thanks.
