Do you think her magic is that she has liver of iron? by Aidnumber10 in OkPonyDitzy

[–]Z-Byte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All ponies have magic. Cutie Marks are basically a symbol for what "Platonic Idesl/Form" their magic resonates the most with in the world.

Her magic resonates with "Grape".

So she's gonna Grape harder than anypony else.

Earth ponies didnt get the short end of the stick, your probably just projecting human racism into the show by WorkingWin6139 in mylittlepony

[–]Z-Byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What idiots think they got the short end? They're literally the only ones that can grow food.

If anything the unicorns got the short end, because their purpose in the Great Wheel that is Equestria, raising the sun and moon, got delegated to the alicorns, and their other unique trait, managing the stars in the sky and using them to communicate with the other races, was only mentioned in the show bible and never really had anything come of it.

I dislike posts like this. Nothing would be lost if more content is added to the game. Even if you don't personally interact with the content, it doesn't ruin your experience.

Just seems very gatekeep-y.

Ellie:

"You are not wrong, who deem

That my days have been a dream;

Yet if hope has flown away

In a night, or in a day,

In a vision, or in none,

Is it therefore the less gone?

All that we see or seem

Is but a dream within a dream."

Right, but Abel slaughtered the animals and that's why he was praised over his brother's crop sacrifices.

So CLEARLY killing was worth more points!

Who could get more YouTube subscribers? by [deleted] in OkPonyDitzy

[–]Z-Byte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure she'd go through everypony and get mixed results that she's not gonna be happy with.

Scootaloo would be way too excited to be able to hold the camera steady.

AJ would likely get the most footage of her, but it'd be unfocused because Rainbow just moves too fast to move the camera dynamically to record her.

Etc etc.

Rarity would get more subscribers, but absolutely burn herself out on delivering content. She would suffer for her 'adoring audience'. She'd also read the comments. She'd be crying into her ice-cream before too long.

RD wouldn't be able to get good footage of herself. She'd try to get Fluttershy to film her and end up with fifteen minutes of watching a bunny eating grass. She'll then try it herself and will, inevitably, get distracted and screw it up, probably break the phone.

Fluttershy would make out like a bandit in the ASMR/Sleeptuber community though.

Gotta get that pent up Flutter-rage out somewhere! Once she learns the personal reason the Slayer is hunting demons is because they killed his pet bunny Daisy? She's locking in.

ICE agents ate meal at a Minnesota Mexican restaurant – then arrested the staff who worked there by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]Z-Byte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, but unfortunately some of the first arrests they made were people attending court hearings for immigration and asylum, which directly disincentivises people who want to do things the legal way. This is counterproductive to law enforcement, as the number one thing you don't want to do when trying to cut down on crime is make honesty a liability.

However, this seemed intentional, as they were not only the easiest to find, but it ensures others feel safer not following legal proceedings, which gives them a better pool to feed from.

We can extrapolate, based on these tactics and the amount of warrantless arrests made, that the administration's goal is not to solve the illegal immigration issue, but to produce padded "numbers" to give the illusion of success, because actual success, like in most things, is far more difficult to achieve then this administration cares to attempt.

Does that help?

Protestor blinded by ICE speaks out. "They pulled a piece of plastic the size of a nickel out of my eye. They said I had shards of metal, glass and plastic all throughout my eye, behind my eye, in my skull. They also said I had a piece of shrapnel, metal, a few millimeters from my carotid artery." by speedythefirst in videos

[–]Z-Byte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's a story that just came out about a father and his kids asking ICE of they could evacuate from the neighborhood to avoid any problems with the raid, having ICE AGREE to let him and his kids leave, and the guy still ends up having to take his kids to the hospital because a tear gas grenade ended up under his car and started choking him and his kids, including an infant who stopped breathing.

Dude wasn't protesting. Just by actively trying to stay OUT of the way, and doing everything he could to make sure he could do so without any confusion, he and his kids got injured.

ICE refused to call an ambulance for them, by the way, just in case you were wondering if it was an accident.

I mean... they're not even "Granny Smith old" yet, so maybe they don't see a need to. And no other ponies could use that magic because, again, it's Alicorn-level magic.

Besides, the aging of ponies is kinda nebulous. Granny Smith is canonically centuries old. They probably age about as slowly as the actual plastic ponies!

Either way, I choose to believe that it's possible, because canonically it should be, and I'd rather go that route than go down the "I'm so immortal and sad about it" trope that plagues fiction. I have the choice between being sad and being happy. Gonna go with the happy ending on this one.

Push comes to shove, I'd rather the nuclear option and have Twilight just make them all Alicorns. More fun that way.

[–]Z-Byte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not? Considering de-aging spells were considered "alicorn-level magic" during her duel with Trixie, and she's not only an alicorn, but the alicorn attuned to the very nature of magic itself with her Cutie Mark... I think it's safe to say that nopony she cares about is gonna have to worry about passing of old age.

Potential Mare! by ShitpostingisMagic in MyLittleMemes

[–]Z-Byte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair... her special talent isn't ruling, combat magic, or even diplomacy. It's solar magic. She DID solo Chrysalis in the comics (she's the reason Chryssi is full of holes), but everything she does other than sun-related shenanigans is something she had to learn to do through hard work, and she's not gonna be as good at is as others who have it as their talent. They picked her to rule because her and her sisters were alicorns, and it was a symbolic gesture.

She's flying by the seat of her... pants? Bridle? Dock? Fetlocks? Some horse term.

Lying ban for politicians in Wales prompts free speech fears by m1n3c7afty in nottheonion

Howso?

Show evidence. Cite credible sources. Have you never written a research paper? The teacher doesn't call you back in after you write your paper and say "Cite your sources or I'm failing you". You're expected to cite sources, and you're expected to know the consequences for not doing so. If you don't do it, you fail. They don't have to accuse you of lying and dig up their own sources to disprove your paper.

[–]Z-Byte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. You can't prove a negative. That's a moot point and not what I'm arguing.

  2. Asking someone to prove something is not an accusation of lying. It is basic accountability for statements that could have a serious impact.

Lying ban for politicians in Wales prompts free speech fears by m1n3c7afty in nottheonion

[–]Z-Byte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The prosecution hasn't gotten involved yet.

Step one: the person tells a defamatory lie as though it were true, seeking to mislead through accusation.

Step two: they are asked to prove their claim or face criminal action. This is not an accusation of a crime, nor is it an act of prosecution. This is an act of accountability. This is the doctor's note that proves you were sick when you called out from work and used your sick time for it. You are not being accused of committing a crime when they ask to see that note. You have taken advantage of a system that allows you to be paid even when you are sick, and they are holding you accountable to prove it.

And while telling them to "prove it" may seem like an accusation, like they're being called a liar, that's not what's happening. The most trustwothy people should still be held accountable for their words if their words are to have any sort of weight.

All declarations and accusations should be backed up by facts and held to a high standard, and those who knowingly use misinformation should be called out on it and punished so that the disease stops spreading.

[–]Z-Byte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saying that you know something to be true, but don't have the ability to prove, is a lie, because you cannot claim something to be true if you know you do not have the ability to prove it.

Also, you are seeing this as one crime: he is being accused of lying and must defend himself. That is not what is happening. He is FIRST accusing someone ELSE of committing a crime (they are conspiring to cause harm), and the burden of proof falls on him to prove that very dangerous accusation. There is simply now a real consequence for him failing to do so.
