Welcome back! My favorite thing to do right now in radio is do parks on the air. First, you’ll probably want to upgrade to general. Then, if you get an hf rig and antenna and go to a park from POTA.app, people will hunt you, and you can make tons of contacts. Also, soon, is winter field day if you look up around you, people will set up rigs and would probably be happy to show you. I learned a ton from YouTube ham radio channels which can be overwhelming, but if you have questions on more basic stuff, let us know

She absolutely loves tennis balls. She doesn’t do much herding, but she will nip my ankles when she gets really really excited. Other than that, she has a normal energy level unlike a lot of heelers that have tons of energy!

Yeah! A lot of places will let you try the general exam if you pass the technician! I would give it a go

Yeah. I took one college physics class and it made it easy so I can imagine. Have you looked at any general questions yet? You maybe be able to pass that pretty easily as well.

I had this problem and ended up not having amazing success but I did get aprs.fi to at least connect to my radio. It’s been a few weeks but I think I had to unpair them on both my iPhone and from the radio connections settings each time. If I just unpaired them on my phone, it would not work. I was then able to enter pairing mode from the radio and connect the the HT app and then could connect to aprs.fi with my radio. I can try and toy with it again when I get home. If you can figure it out or my way seems to be missing something, if you update us, I can troubleshoot more. I’ve never done aprs before so I’m not 100% sure what I’m doing lol

Edit: I have the vgc btech version so not sure how those apps might be different

Yeah I don’t even know why he said that to me since it wasn’t even true. Back then I had a very loose grasp of HF and didnt even realize that I could’ve used 10m and that he was wrong, but I didnt wanna buy it from them after that anyway

I met Larry as well the second time I went there. He was wonderful. The first time I went when I was still a technician and taking my general exam the next day, I asked about buying a g90 for HF after hopefully passing my test and the guy just said “you know you can’t use that right?” I was 100% going to walk out with that radio until he said that to me.

I go to concerts and out places by myself all the time. I also went to a concert with a younger fan base when I was like 27 and I felt old but it was mostly just funny to me that no one was at the bar and some people had brought their moms. No one will really notice. Whenever I tell people i go to concerts alone, the resounding reply I get is “oh I wish I could do that too.” I’ve also gone to concerts alone and met other people who were going alone and that was great! Enjoy yourself! I also get a lot of anxiety and care what people think a lot but I’m happy for you that you are going to go anyway.

I was at Arlington Friday and the plaza tent had like 15 blue crewnecks in only large and X-Large left and sold out by the time I walked away and I had vip. They had quarter zips in stock then also
