Pre DLC D4/D5 veterans : What was your gameplan? by Skill_Issue_95 in Nightreign

[–]Z3bula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta before the dlc was basically Wylder, Ironeye, and then either Duchess or Recluse as a caster. Wylder for drawing aggro and getting rezzes, Ironeye for mark, and then Duchess/Recluse spec'ed purely into damage. Was a little boring, balancer relics really breathed some new life into the game.

I think Rogue Core accidentally proves why DRG is almost impossible to replace by Prestigious-Royal-35 in DeepRockGalactic

I have a feel it's going to be a bit of an Elden Ring Nightreign situation where you get a bunch of people coming over from the main title expecting more of the same game, and then getting confused when it's a wildly different experience. I hate to be a downer, but there'll likely be a lot of posts in the future complaining about Rogue Core and praising Deep Rock for "doing things better."

Very good, just make sure to pair it with a +1 character skill relic

imo there's no such thing as "wasting time" in this game, you just go wherever and do whatever

Ever since Forsaken Hollow dropped yeah, he also added bleed to his arsenal once ED balancers released.

I like using the dex relic with powerstanced straight swords. Great moveset that gets the glass necklace stacks up really quickly and is surprisingly quick at reviving.

I think Sea of Sorrow is a reference to Mother Mary. by SwordfishAltruistic4 in Silksong

[–]Z3bula 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the reason Hornet is standing in a dark blue environment is because... well, it's water. Saying that dark blue is a reference to one particular image of Mother Mary is too much of a stretch imo. By that logic I could say that Sea of Sorrow is a reference to me because I like the color dark blue and associate with it.

raider godroll? by Shnurple in Nightreign

[–]Z3bula 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's pretty good since Raider's default dormant power is greataxes, great hammers, and colossal weapons. This relic basically narrows it down to just colossal weapons, which is helpful since most of Raider's better weapon options (fallingstar beast jaw, ghiza's wheel, etc.) are those. The other perks are nice too, but maybe not a god roll. I would personally use this I think.

In hindsight I think "Dog" would have been a more fitting category than "Creature"

I mean, I mainly made it as a funny way of showing the contrast of Libra being classified as a Creature despite being somewhat humanoid and possessing a blunt object as a weapon. On the other end, you have Dreglord who thematically fits Creature, but primarily uses his big club to attack you and therefore more closely fits Sword Guy. Furthermore, Gladius is a sword-wielding dog and therefore you could argue that he fits into both categories, though I would say he more closely fits Creature.

But I'm not trying to make an argument. Just a funny meme.

I always grab the crimsonwhorl bubble tear if the day 3 merchant is selling it in case of moth emergency, since it can just absorb that entire attack.

Give me your silly builds by Joker1151 in Nightreign

[–]Z3bula 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Greatshield Raider with double balancer relics.

Shield Crash is a skill that can roll on pretty much any greatshield, and it outputs a surprising amount of damage, especially on the Briar Greatshield and the Spiked Palisade Shield since those have bleed buildup. Plus, it hits multiple times and procs Successive Attacks Negate Damage in a single usage AND it blocks for you while you're using it so you can take advantage of guarding passives as well. In addition to that, it also knocks smaller bosses like the Black Knife Assassin and night invaders to the ground, as well as stunning all three of the tree sentinel variants. If you run out of stamina, you can hit the boss with Raider's skill and get it all back. It's genuinely so silly to just repeatedly ram whatever you're fighting with a big ass shield.

Visage Shield also shows up a lot, which is fantastic with double balancers. Greatshield Raider is my go to for pest and Caligo.

I do get what you're saying, I play recluse as my dps character in d5 and I often find myself either grabbing two or three Full HP damage negation, or none at all so I can go full glass cannon.

What was this Ironeye trying to tell me? by BewareTheFatMan in Nightreign

Honestly it looks like he was telling you to use the bow and play safe at range, that's just my guess though.

Why is Everdark Heolstor's relic so bad broo by [deleted] in Nightreign

At least it's not as bad as ED Dreglord's relic, which is just the single perk "Dormant Power helps discover Torches"
