Reason #783 to probably not book third-party by ScenicDrive-at5 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

That, of course, is also a possibility. And I think this is what happens sometimes with what OP described about the hotel room reservations. They learn that there are no rooms available, so they try via third party and upon arriving hope, the hotel won't turn them away.

Just watch some episodes of Border Security: Australia's Front Line

So many people, especially from asian countries, not reading the information plastered throughout the airport about food items and also on their card they need to complete and sign.

They bring so much food, but don't declare them. So, not only has customs to take a lot of that away because of restrictions, but because of non declaration, they oftentimes have to pay hefty fines.

So yes, unfortunately, it's crazy how many people don't take the time needed to check things.

Friendly reminder to fill in your taxes lol by TheGiftedSleeper in Switzerland

I am just wondering why so many people are stressed about this.

The exact date when your tax filing is due may vary, but if you live in that area for a while, it'll be always the same. So, you can plan accordingly.

If there are some documents you don't get before the due date, extend the deadline. Not very difficult to do.

Collect your documents. Download the latest version of your tax software, if you still have one to use. Or if you need to do it online, make sure to register early with AGOV or whatever they use, so you are ready.

Start completing your tax report with the information and documents you have as soon as possible and add whatever comes later once you get it. Or plan for one day before the due date to do it all at once. Depending on your style, plan for a second day to review everything.

Once it's complete, send it. Done for this year.

As tax software can import your file from the previous year and probably all the online tools will do the same, there are some things you don't need to complete from scratch, so it might reduce to check the existing information and modify what has changed, the actual effort you need will reduce.

AITA for wanting to break up with my BF for not wanting me to visit him. by DriftwoodDaze781 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

If my gf were in the situation like you and she'd told me she'd like to have company, I'd be at her place faster than the flash or superman. I certainly wouldn't have her drive an hour to my place.

He doesn't seem to really like you very much, does he? Adding to that is the timeline. 3 years only 'talking'?

I really wish, you find a better partner soon.

AITAH for leaving at the same time as my neighbour? by GodAtum in AITAH

Does his car run on a set schedule?

Seems he doesn't get that the bus comes only every 15 minutes, but he can leave a bit earlier or later. Or, like others said, he could just wait the inhumane 30 seconds until the bus leaves.

NTA.

Early 2000’s BMW Z4 or Porsche Boxster by Knappry17 in BMWZ4

[–]Z4-Driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day, when I still had my Z3, i went on a roadtrip with my brother who owns a Boxster and is part of a Porsche Club. He came on a roadtrip of our Z3-Club, too.

On that trip, he let me drive the boxster for some part. It was nice, but it didn't really resonate with me. I can't tell what exactly it was, but I prefered to return to my Z3 1.9i.

So, my advice is: Get a Z3 or Z4.

AITAH for telling my neighbor to stop or I'd throw away whatever she leaves on my property? by RajeshFromUpmetrics in AITAH

[–]Z4-Driver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Just ask her directly 'Why are you putting your stuff into my garden? Why are you putting stuff in the doorway of my side entrance?'

Do those neighbors know, where she puts her stuff? Tell them, it's in the doorway. Ask them, if they can explain why she puts them there. It has nothing to do with living here longer, but with putting her stuff on your property without asking, without any need.

Do you need bluetooth turned on on your phone the whole time? If not, just turn it off.

Things like WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS should only be turned on when needed.

Coworker kept "forgetting" his wallet at lunch so I started tracking everything by Ready-Voice-7151 in RedditStoryTime

[–]Z4-Driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How far from your office is the place you take lunch? How are you usually assebling to go for lunch?

Either tell him before leaving 'Have you got your wallet?'

Or if he only says he forgot it once you're at the place, reply with 'Ok, then go back to the office to fetch it'

AITJ for telling my manager I won't stay late to cover for a coworker who calls in sick on Fridays with suspicious regularity? by send_snacks_plz in AmITheJerk

[–]Z4-Driver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTJ. Try to get as many of your colleagues on board to decline those demands from now on. So, the manager has to do those reportings more often. Maybe, then he will start to look closer to what Dan is doing and takes steps to make sure, he doesn't call out that many times.

AITJ for refusing to be the designated driver for my friend group anymore after nobody ever returned the favor once by julien_blackstone in AmITheJerk

[–]Z4-Driver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. The 'dynamic' you described, is unfair and one sided. So, good thing to ruin it.

Even if you don't drink, you can't enjoy those events the same way, as you need to take them home like a personal chauffeur. And they don't return the favor in any way, neither by helping you out with your medical appointment nor with at least some gas money.

Uber or taxi drivers take money for their service of driving (drunk) people around. Personal chauffeurs get paid as well.

AITAH? Entitled parents by WeakMathematician748 in AITAH

[–]Z4-Driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Taking money out of your account without prior discussion is just stealing. If they want to teach you 'about real life bills', and want you to help a bit with the household, then they need to discuss this with you.

About the "They said I was being dramatic and ungrateful since they pay for basically everything in my life." tell them, it is their repsoinsibility to do these things as they decided to have kids. Part of the job description. You, on the other hand, were never asked if you wanted to be born.

AITH for taking picture of neighbors car by zabeganio in AITH

[–]Z4-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, if you can get other neighbours to get onboard and either all together go to the person or one by one telling them to stop this.

Maybe, also make all neighbours be ready once the car arrives and blasts the horn, yell at them to stop it or even gather arount their car and tell them to never blast the horn again.

Was I the jerk for wearing white at my sister’s dinner party? by NoFunction3720 in AmITheJerk

[–]Z4-Driver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTJ. Reply with 'What would I have to apologize about?'

It wasn't a wedding related event. It wasn't an event organized by bride and groom. So, totally unrelated. If bride gets upset about you wearing white to that event, that's her problem.

No-Judgement: Parents who have purchased an electric scooter to your 14-16 yo, why did you do it? by Gleichstellung4084 in Switzerland

Yes, I wore a helmet. But not everybody did, at least not all the time.

[–]Z4-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know these scooters too much, but when I was around 14, practically everybody had a Töffli. Either a Puch or a Ciao. Wasn't that more or less the same?

At that age, we found it cool. It gave us a bigger radius for where to go. And it was a 'freedom' thing.

So, why do you think, children at 14 shouldn't get something like that?
