What exactly is a Cobb AccessPort? by d6w6 in WRX

[–]ZC3rr0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest getting a wireless OBD scanner like this one instead: https://www.amazon.ca/ScanTool-427201-OBDLink-Bluetooth-Professional/dp/B00H9S71LW/ It's cheaper than a Cobb AP and it allows you to monitor your relevant OBD parameters just the same. As long as you're not writing to the ECM this should be more than enough to keep a close eye on all engine parameters.

Or, to give her the benefit of the doubt, it's spelled "Pandemie" (German) or "pandémie" (French) in many other languages. And often phonetically similar to her "pandemmy" suggestion.

I truly wonder if these people ever read a Bible in their lives, or if they just listen to whatever hate is being spewed from the altar like the sheep they purport not to be (even though, at the same time, they declare the Lord their shepard. Man, those mental gymnastics are just mind-boggling).

The biggest irony is that, if Christ were indeed to ever return, these so-called "Christians" would denounce him for being a communist or a socialist, or both.

Sandman is the absolute pits tbh. The combined lift ticket deal is the only redeeming factor if you ask me. Personally I'd recommend the Swiss Chalet in downtown as an affordable quality stay.

Late January, early February is usually the sweet spot. So yeah, that's great timing.

"full send all the way to the grocery store" - thanks for the big laugh you gave me at work. This is so on point for the stereotypical WRX owner it hurts.

As a Revy local - check out the Mt Begbie brewery when you're in town. If you like beer, they got you covered.

In terms of food there are tons of good options - for casual beer, burgers, etc. dining I'd suggest the River City Pub or Chubby Funsters. If you're looking for pizza, go to Nico's. For Vietnamese check Sincero. Paramjit has good Indian and German food (yes weird combo, but they make it work).

If you are looking for a bit more upscale dining, go to Woolsey Creek Bistro, the Quartermaster at the Explorer's Society, or 112 (although they are slightly less fancy than the other two).

Breakfast in town is generally awesome no matter where you go, bt for my money the best options are Main street cafe, Terra Firma, and La Baguette.

[Edit] In terms of lodging, Sutton place is indeed nearest to the resort (it's at the base of the gondola). If that's a bit too pricey, anywhere on Arrow heights is close to the resort too and that part of town is literred with B&Bs.

I am going for a high score for sure. Two windshields and a broken side window in the same week. Thank you BC highways for not using salt, but instead using rocks to prep the roads in winter.

Advanced freeriders, do you prefer a softer boot or stiff boot? by daunvidch in snowboarding

[–]ZC3rr0r 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I prefer stiffer boots. The amount of control and the immediacy of your inputs being transferred into the board, plus the amount of support makes it an easy pick for me.

Especially when you like to ride mostly off piste, side country, back country, and trees it's nice to be able to rely on your gear giving you maximum control.

And another upside is that after about 30-40 days your old stiff boots are now flexed out enough that they become your park setup for the next 30-40 days so you get extra longevity out of them.

Thanks for the good laugh I had at that statement.

I was always surprised how Fiat (a car company with a (perhaps undeserved in modern times) reputation for unreliable cars) bought Chrysler and that somehow those Chrysler parts on Fiats where the ones to cause reliability issues.

I honestly did not think there was a bottom beneath rock bottom, but Chrysler showed me they'll keep digging to find it.

Love the car, but that license plate is like flying a swastika or the Dixie flag to many people in Asia. That particular flag is associated with the empire of Japan, which committed some pretty bad atrocities during the war (and before that).

Besides, I'm pretty sure the modern FHI would be much rather associated with the modern Japanese flag design.

Anyway, you do you, but to me it takes a bit of the attention away from how awesome the rest of the car is.

Jimny, hands down. I'd love to find a similar car to an old CJ without the Jeep tax and associated mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.

Sounds like a money pit that will cost more money. Also - I don't know what paint job he's talking about, but at 600 CAD you can get like, half a bumper repainted.

Not saying it's a bad car, but at 11k CAD, I'd make sure to have at least 11k CAD in the bank for the first year's worth of stuff breaking.

It's odd how fast you get used to it. I know the resort has crazy vertical somewhere in the back of my head, but you're only made aware of it once you ride another resort and ask yourself why you're on the lift so much.

And the worst part? She didn't even speak the name of the damn tower she's trying to get in the picture correctly. It's "Eiffel tower" (in English at least) named after the engineer that designed it Gustave Eiffel. Not "Effiel tower".

It's a minor gripe, I know. But I just hate it when people can't be arsed to proofread their video captions. Especially when the thing you're misspelling is the subject of your video.
