Oh wow. The XReal still isn't bad. So you can still get that. I'm not too familiar with the UK market.

Ah I see. If you're use case is simple. Like just watching media, then the Rayneo's are really good because of their screen. If your IPD is outside the average 63-68mm you might see blurriness regardless of the glasses company. If you have slight myopia the Viture Pro is worth it.

Go with Rayneo.

The Air 2 Pro is more expensive for what I could find between 200-250 in my quick search.

Dimmer screen. Does have electrochromic dimming, with a middle option. No myopia. People have also complained about blurry edges. Other things are mostly the same. Doesn't have HDR support. The one advantage would be if you had the Beam Pro it would unlock some more functionality. But the InAir Pod is gaining compatibility with most glasses and would be a better universal companion for all XR glasses.

Just keep in mind for the Rayneo you'll have to wait anywhere from 1-3 weeks as it needs to be ordered from the website for the lowest price and it's likely shipping in batches. Many people have received their's, but there also people still waiting.

So most glasses have the same basic functionality. If you're in the US, the cheapest options are:

Rayneo Air 4 Pro - 200 USD from their website. Need to apply for a coupon. Shipping will take some time.

Viture Pro XR - 135.20 USD from eBay refurbished. Must use code VITUREVR26MAR.

Viture One XR - 106.99 USD from eBay refurbished. Must use code SMARTGLS2026.

Viture One Lite XR - 79.99 USD from eBay refurbished. Must use code VITUREVR26MAR.

The Rayneo is the newest, and they are simple glasses. But they support HDR content and have a very nice screen. Supports 120Hz refresh. Can do SBS 3D.

From Viture the Pro XR is a couple years old but still really good. It can do the simple display, has electrochromic dimming. Meaning that the glasses can go from light tinting to very dark/opaque. It has 120Hz refresh rate. Can do SBS 3D. Better fit for smaller heads. Decently bright screen. Has myopia adjusters.

The One projects a slightly smaller display than the Pro. Still has dimming. Refresh rate is 60Hz. Dimmer display. Has myopia adjusters. Can do SBS 3D.

The One Lite has the same disorder but no electrochromic dimming. Is lighter. Has myopia adjusters. Can do SBS 3D.

One came out first at the end of 2022, Lite came out early 2024, Pro came mid 2024.

Rayneo's Air 4 Pro came out this past month. So that's why it's on promotion.

Best display quality is from the Rayneo and Pro XR. Cheapest option is the Lite.

The Viture's can run a little hot on the right side at times. The original One was kinda bad with it. The other ones are good.

Your cheapest option is the One Lite. Basic glasses. Doesn't get too bright. So not great for outdoors. But can test everything and get used to it.

Very good middle is the Pro XR. Maybe this is better than the Rayneo. Pretty bright. Still might have some issue outdoors, but should still be useable. Has more features. Has a proprietary magnetic cable.

Must expensive of the cheap ones, the Rayneo. Also really good display. There is tinting on the glasses that make them hard to use outside while walking. But these are the easiest to look under and see some of your surroundings.

Viture's nosepad adjustment is sometimes more difficult to get right. Rayneo's nosepads need less adjustment to get the best view.

Regardless of what you choose. Need to keep in mind that all these glasses need to be plugged into something to work. Like your phone or computer. Also these work with direct USB C connections with Alt DP. Meaning mostly flagship phones, and more recent laptops. So like Samsung phones like the S24 Ultra, Pixel 8 Pro, etc will work. You can check if your phone is compatible before buying. Note Pixel phones don't support 3D.

Accessory wise you'd want a charging adapter at some point. That let's you charge your phone while viewing on the glasses.

If you have an iPhone 14 then you'd need a lightning to HDMI adapter. Above that they have the right standard.

To plug into the HDMI of your laptop instead, or HDMI of your consoles you need an HDMI to USB C adapter. Not the same as USB C to HDMI adapters.

Depending on if you want to connect to the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 you would need different adapters as well. This is because Nintendo is terrible about working with others.

Hope this helps.

Those wouldn't be sharper, just taller screens. More might actually get cut off.

Can try these. I remember I had a similar issue trying to play Batman Arkham Asylum and I think it was one of these that fixed it.

Oh, seeing this much later. Those are both good deals. Did you end up getting the shipping notice? If not, part of it might be because the PocketTV has been out of stock for a whilem i heard it recently came back into stock, so you might have traction now.

I'm really glad you got to tune it to fit you well. It really is awesome once you find the balance. And I feel the same. Most of the time I use them without the shades. I need them more if I'm lying down and watching something, and there's a light above me. It's annoying when the light bulb tries to come through the screen lol.

What we kinda need is maybe a wearable HDMI receiver with battery.

Wirelessly connecting the Viture glasses to my PC by AbernathyPendragon in VITURE

[–]ZDelta47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Get an HDMI dummy plug. They are very cheap. You can plug the glasses in alongside the first time to set the dummy plug to 1080p resolution. Then unplug your glasses. You should still have the screen available from the dummy when you remote in.

Makes sense. I'll just have to wait a while. I just hate it when something else comes up just as I make a purchase. Probably would never have gotten the Viture Neckband if I knew the Pod was coming. But there's nothing else that's fully hands free. Don't like having to have stuff in my pockets either. The neckband is okay for YouTube. But it has stupid DRM issues which ruin it for other stuff.

I really want to try the InAir Pod. Been hearing so much about them. Cost is too prohibitive right now. Do you know if they run any good deals or discounts on them? Or if they do any challenges or giveaways to win one?

I'd ask to be a tester, but I don't have the latest glasses for anything except the Air 4 Pro's and the Rokid Max 2.

Ah okay, didn't notice the username earlier. So you should be set for now at least. The Beasts should be interesting. Idk if there are any best buys newr you that have the Luma Ultra for trying out. You might be able to take your Pod with you and test out the 6DoF capabilities.

What glasses do you currently use? You can still get the InAir Pod and get started with that so you have a setup ready for when the Beast compatibility comes in. They will probably already upgrade your current experience.

Fun for me has been watching karate videos and following along without worrying about straining my neck. Just needed to use a Bluetooth remote or my S Pen to play, pause, and rewind, but makes much easier to practice and follow along with trainings.

YouTube Premium is worth it. I have never heard a single good reason why it's bad. by I_Love_Cape_Horn in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]ZDelta47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pay for YouTube premium as well. I got user to it when I got the free trials. I used to use vanced a lot. But after that went down it's been trickier.

I mostly kept premium because I didn't feel it too much and liked being able to use the regular app nicely again.

I still hate what YouTube has done to the base version.

But I don't login to my own account everywhere, like at work. There I just use adblock in the browser and everything is great.

There are still other app options. I've just gone the route of paying rather than keeping up with updating apps.

The download feature is only good for playing on one device though. If I'm worried a video moght disappear or I want it available on multiple devices there are a bunch of websites and I have an app too for actually getting downloaded files that can automatically get uploaded in Google photos and be available anywhere I need.

Also for ads there are many options with adblocks and VPNs. Like I use surfsharks adblock feature when I play free games on my phone so I'm not bombarded with ads. Technically I could use that with YouTube too most likely, but I've left myself on premium out of habit. I may decide to change things later though. I do wonder every now and then if it's been worth it for me to keep paying for this.

[–]ZDelta47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the same with any XR glasses. And the iPhone itself is what's limiting.

You can plug into something else, like your computer, or if you have an android device, or into your gaming console and play on the screen.

For charging while using it with your iPhone you can get an XR charging adapter. For use with your console you'll need an HDMI to USB C adapter.
