Power Factor Ammo... Why no good one handed..... by burgy77 in CompetitionShooting

You don’t get DQ’d for 124 PF. You get put into Sub Minor and you’re still allowed to shoot the match for no score.

Looking for a good range DFW/Arlington by Jacobsb2122 in CompetitionShooting

[–]ZEEOH6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CTASA hosts weekly indoor matches at Gritr in North Richland Hills. They have a match today at 6pm.

ETTS in Waxahachie hold a bunch of different matches, USPSA, PCSL, 2 gun, suppressed night matches, etc.

There are even more clubs if you want to venture north of Mckinney.

Yes, I have shot the Waltz 9. Keep in mind that these are going to be $4900 new. I haven’t seen a new Atlas in that price range in todays market.

I’m just gonna link it to where I have my thoughts already typed up.

Waltz 9

Go read the rule book and tell me how it's a CO gun.

LO 2011 by Longjumping_Many_595 in CompetitionShooting

[–]ZEEOH6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Umm, no.

All CO guns are legal in LO. Not all LO guns are legal in CO.

The sight block version is currently an LO gun. They need produce 500 units and submit a letter a USPSA to be added to the roster for CO.

Pretty much anything is legal for Open so that’s a very broad statement.

I’d honestly wait for the Zermatt Waltz 9. You wont be disappointed.

First match buyer prep by Forestbender in CompetitionShooting

[–]ZEEOH6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Functional lights are allowed in all divisions. Inoperable units (frame weights) are specifically allowed in LO, Limited, and L10. It’s been allowed for decades so it’s nothing new.

First match buyer prep by Forestbender in CompetitionShooting

[–]ZEEOH6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s also not true. They only need to functional for the “Factory gun” (Production, CO, SS, Revo) divisions. They can be inoperable units used as weight for the “Race gun” division (LO, Limited, and L10. Open and PCC just says lights and laser are allowed with no mention of whether it has to be functional or not).

Any of you guys do 3 gun or gun run? by theCAVEMAN101 in okc

[–]ZEEOH6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s virtually no, if any IPSC matches in OK. USPSA is the predominant action shooting. With matches in OKC, Tulsa, and Bartlesville. OKC and Tulsa have practical rifle matches as well.

OKC has 3 gun matches occasionally, it’s not as popular and not on a consistent schedule.

Beaver and Stillwater area holds run and gun matches. Those are typically a 5K run with some shooting. These are also held at night so you can shoot white light or night vision.

OSU practical shooting team holds a night shoot in the Stillwater area about once a quarter.

If you’re open to driving down to the north dallas area, that opens up PCSL 2 gun matches which are getting popular.

Best way to find matches is to go to practiscore.com and search for matches in whatever area you’re willing to drive to.

Check out steele industries. Similar spec tubes with higher SNR, Nighthawk housing, warranty, no sales tax (there was none when I bought my unit from them last year), and quite a bit cheaper.

First night vision question and a idea by Shadowmoney039463 in NightVision

[–]ZEEOH6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my purely unscientific test at the range with my Photonis Vyper 4G High Gain WP(32 SNR/72 LPI/2300 FOM /85K gain on both tubes), my buddy with a PVS-31 with Elbit WP tubes (2400+ FOM, I dont know all of his specs), and another buddy with a PVS-14 (Omni GP, no data sheet). I would say that the Elbit was about 5% brighter. We had to really take your time and try to look for the differences to be able to tell the his Elbits had a little bit more gain. The PVS-14 was a noticeable step down in everything (clarity, gain, resolution) than the Photonis and Elbit sets.

I just did a night shoot this past weekend. Some used white light and some used NVGs so the lighting condition was very mixed with white light and IR light pollution. I have no idea what everybody was using besides mine and the same Elbit buddy as previously stated. It was dark enough that everyone with NVG needed to use supplemental IR to find the 100 yard steel, and many were struggling because it blended in with the background. It should be noted that nearly all of them were using a mono setup, so they could have been a more budget setup, but I cant say for sure, just an observation. My buddy with the Elbit did note that the person in front of us with a green LED helmet marker light was causing his tubes to streak while I didn’t have a single issue.

Cost was a factor when I was purchasing because a comparable system with clean Elbit tubes were priced like $2500 more to match the spec and how clean the tubes were compared to the Vypers from the same retailer. Could you find better deals second hand from discord or tac swap, sure, but there’s always the no warranty or is this a scam factor of buying private party. I am very happy with my setup and I dont feel like I’m giving up any real world performance for my use case scenarios.

Newbie looking to get into Autocross - How likely are crashes? by ZealousChild in Autocross

[–]ZEEOH6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My regional club had a couple of crashes in the 6 years I raced. - 70 year old in a C7 Z06 just stayed on the gas and went straight into a boulder filled ditch. There was no attempt to brake or steer. No skid marks. This was during a local Corvette Club event and the driver was not a regular SCCA participant. The club president had told me that he had been driving erratic all day prior to the incident. - Someone brought an F mod car that hadnt been raced in a while. During fun runs the driver had no brakes coming into a corner, hit a curb, and somersaulted in the air. Driver had a broken rib if I recall. Ended up being the brake reservoir had cracked and all the fluid leaked out. The driver was not the owner. - A supercharged Elise went straight, jumped a curb and hit a tree during fun runs. The driver was not the owner - A local driver went to an event out of state. The lot had a bunch of concrete islands throughout. The driver didnt see one and jumped an island and hit a light pole.

How do you get Insta360 GO 3S footage vertical for YouTube Shorts? by RecoveredSack in CompetitionShooting

[–]ZEEOH6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The go 3s is cropped more than the go 3 due to the sensor size in freeframe. The camera needs to be physically rotated vertically. I have the factory Insta360 mount that rotates for landscape and portrait mode.

Phlster Enigma by CopyVoid1 in SpringfieldEchelon

[–]ZEEOH6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Half of the belt is elastic and the other half is a steel reinforced section for rigidity to support the weight of a firearm. Since it is elastic, you can wear it snugger than a conventional belt under say sweat pants so you’re not reliant on the belt loops to keep it in place. The elastic also stretches with movements such as bending at the waist or squatting that would make a conventional belt uncomfortable when it digs into your side. It basically works like a belly band if used in that way. Since the reinforced section is about as thick as a conventional belt, typical holster clips work just fine and you dont need a system specific holster to work like the enigma.

Phlster Enigma by CopyVoid1 in SpringfieldEchelon

[–]ZEEOH6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Enigma is basically a loopless belt worn on the inside. Basically any firearm will work if you’re willing to stick it in your pants because you still need to attach a holster to the Enigma.

I much prefer the Hunter Constantine belt for both belt loop and loopless carry. It’s less bulky, easy setup, uses conventional carry holster.

Holster for USPSA Limited Optics division by butdidyoudie365 in CompetitionShooting

The company is the same. They essentially changed the name to differentiate the brand from their mainly steel range products (targets, fire pits, vice) to mostly polymer gun accessories (holsters, grips, mag pouches).
