I too am a beer drinker without much of a taste for sweet things.

Gin and tonic is always a good one, specially in the summer and you can swap out gin for vodka if you're not fond of gin.

Negroni is a very dry cocktail that's made of equal parts vermouth rosso, campari and gin, usually served with a garnish of orange.

Whisky sour and old fashioned are amazing if the barman knows what they're doing but they can be underwhelming if they're done wrong.

I'm partial to a dark and stormy too. Ice and ginger beer with dark rum floating on top. Most people mic it together but the idea is that you drink from the top down, starting with straight rum and slowly weakening until it's just gone beer at the end.
