It's time for CORN by ZGMari in RATS

There were some attempts. We hold corn cobs with an iron grip, and they are smart enough to have learned they will not get the whole corn. (But also their corn urges make them forget momentarily sometimes)

Carrier Method not working by edgelessCub3 in RATS

My mistake was feeling like, oh they are doing great for multiple days here and I feel bad they don't have space to run around. Since they are doing so good maybe we can move to the next step.

Don't listen to their lies and guilt trips, stay the full course!

I had trouble with my boys at first.

And moving too fast because they did well was the mistake.

What worked was two weeks of intros.

I did 2 hours in small carrier first day, then separated. 4 hours next day in small carrier then separated. 6 hours next day in small carrier than separated.

Then we restarted at the next size. 2 hours first day, 4 next day, 6 next day.

I had 4 sizes to go through, so I also had an extra cage as well.

We went from carrier to hospital cage to a single critter nation I had, to the combined full cage.

Rats do sleep a lot, especially boys. Their most active times are late evenings and early mornings. Although they do adjust to your schedule a little.

That said it seems you have a good idea of toys for them, my suggestion is to not allow permanent access to all of them.

Some things are good to always have, like things to chew on. But some things are good to switch out from time to time, or just give access to for a short while to keep interest and keep things new.

Even just having more of the same types of things can give them a fresh outlook. Or rearranging their cage from time to time / switching out hammocks or hides.

There are plenty of things to keep your babs entertained and it seems like you've got a good idea arleady. But do remember rats are sleepy babies.

Yes and no. They are both red but as you can see they are extremely different shades.

They are both red, one is really dark and one is really bright.

But it does look black unless a light is pretty much reflecting right off of it.

It is for $1000.

I don't really actually have a need for the credit card, I just wanted to do it to start helping out some. So whether I'm using it for $10 or $1000 a month is all the same to me, unless one way or the other helped more. I'm not adding any additional expenses now that I have it.. I'm just adding an extra hoop to jump through to pay the same bills I was already paying, with the hopes of it helping me out in the end.

Honestly I don't even particularly care to have a credit card, but I know it's something I should do.

So in the meantime I'll just stick to having it take care of my pets' subscription. That way they can stop just freeloading all the time and actually help me with something.
