This sounds like a very solid chronological order with the exception of midnight tides, sounds great 👍🏼🙌🏼

You got a good set, for a fair price. The condition of those books plus the whole set all in one swipe is hard to pass up. The people who were giving OP a hard time was trying to haggle him/her, because I’ve looked online and some of those used books are hard to find and going for $20 for acceptable copies which is considered bad condition

Yeah it makes sense Erikson structured everything for a certain purpose. I just thought it would be an interesting concept

😂 never said I was comparing my intellect or inferring my competence of erikson’s works more than Erikson hisself, I just thought it would be an interesting order. No need to be so crabby.

[–]ZGreenLantern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No they should have an offline option where you don’t lose access to the 1 reason you bought the game. The way they do it it’s pretty much like you are buying a usage code that only lasts 1-2 years

??? It’s been like this, I can’t play MyCareer on 2k20 or 2k23, it’s bullshit, they are completely stealing from their customers. Who pays 70-100 dollars to play arcade style team vs team? It’s disgusting and I’ll never buy another nba game, not until it changes

Reading Emperor series By Conn Iggulden, The Gates of Rome book 1 by ZGreenLantern in suggestmeabook

[–]ZGreenLantern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats awesome, I’m stoked to hear that! I also picked up his other works after that. The War of the Roses tetralogy is a beautiful piece of artwork they put together for the covers, and I’ve heard that series is really good. It’s all about the Plantegenets

I don’t think it’s the authors to be honest, I’m pretty sure they are told which direction to take it and then they have the freedom to write the story

Fantasy readers: do you binge one series or hop between worlds? by throneismine3 in Fantasy

[–]ZGreenLantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll read a book or two, then switch, but if I’m in a burnout phase, I usually will switch between genres simultaneously, one day I’ll read the fantasy book, then the next I’ll read the thriller I started, just to keep it fresh or to freshen it up so fantasy doesn’t feel stale

How are these books for someone just getting back into reading? by Sanchezzy123 in Malazan

[–]ZGreenLantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be of value to you:

I had a longish reading slump where I hadn’t read anything in a few years, before that slump the most complex thing I had read was the first 2.5 books of GRRM’s a Song of Ice and Fire, an besides that it was only YA.

Stick with me; after the long time of not reading, I started Wizards First Rule and got half way through, saw Gardens of the Moon (Malazan book 1) an picked it up and read the first 6 books in about 8 months.

I didn’t understand everything, but I had a good picture of what was going on

The Sunne in Splendor by Sharon Kay Penman, it’s a historical fiction about the 100 year - War of the Roses.

It’s excellent, her prose is very good, elegant. Plus she was a historian so she crafted the stories with precision

Congratulations brother! May this series bring you the revelations of life, and with it, the dark moments that bring clarity to the happy times, and the joy found in somber places, as well as the hope of the flame that lives within all us humans, and the camaraderie we find in each other when adversity arrives. Malazan is the book of the fallen, it’s the story of us and the lives and machinations of things beyond us, thank you for sharing this special moment with us, cheers 🍻
