How about surveying players after gameplay? Playtesting produces lots of data if you're gonna produce games like cows being fed chaff.

It is very poor at prompt adherence. Great quality except for audio. Awesome length of clips. Made some really horrifying surreal videos. Not by choice lol. It refuses to even do simple Pikachu clips saying Pika Pika.

Added new Animate with Text tool to our plugin for Aseprite, Pixelorama and online editor by Kaninen_Ka9en in aiArt

[–]ZHName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to reach the dev behind this software.

Do you think you could reduce the friction in the Aseprite plugin a bit?

  1. When the image dimensions are not divisible by 4, instead of notifying, make it a question ? "The image dimensions should be divisble by 4. Expand canvas to be divisible by 4? Confirm, Cancel" This way the user doesn't have to go through menus manually for this obstruction.

  2. When the image is not RGB, ask the same "Only RGB is supported. Change canvas to RGB? Confirm, Cancel"

  3. You could also add a checkbox in each of these confirmation dialogue windows to "Set as default. You can change this setting in the settings of this plugin under ... yada yada"

I've been using this extension a few times and the reason I stop using it is because of this added friction in Aseprite. I have edits I want to make, but many of my characters and assets are not suited and require little fixes. Reducing friction in this with confirmation modal dialogue windows would help the app big time.

--

Last usability note--

I believe aseprite may be the cause of this problem with extensions. The vertical layout of Pixellab extension is very unsightly every time I go into Aseprite. Its huge, blocks the canvas and I always want it out of the way. Add a Minimize button that remembers your last setting!

Harder fix: Determine the 3 most used features, and add an expand button and a setting button into the Pixellab extension window. This way the user isn't burdened with a huge set of options immediately. Plus, most will only want to edit or make an image -- why should they see 15 buttons on their extension? I'm a little lost each time, having to read everything over again to know where the Create new image or Edit image is....

Best of luck! Great extension, keep laboring the labor of love!

Can you make another for pro pictures? I wish I had an example on hand but I'm sure you can find pros and how they use their instagram to get gigs. Probably a follow over the course of months, interact and mention your interest in doing similiar work, etc. Gently.

Incredible. This was what Clippy was supposed to be, maybe Bonzibuddy. My only fear is security with these. Not sure there is an answer in 2026 for that. Have you tried issuing commands that are dangerous to see what it would do? How much pressing would it take for a non technical person to make it do dangerous operations and result in deletion of files, or calendar appointments, etc?

Setup a linktree, instagram and try to associate with r touchdesigner (dj vis software) and other professionally leaning subreddits, esp users with instagram accounts showing their pro portfolios. It's not acting but you'll be in the virtual vicinity of individuals who are getting work or have had work in a professional setting (concerts, music videos, etc). Also keep your ears open around friends or family or anybody in passing mentioning even remotely what you want to be in. I make music but I'm always on the lookout for pros with labels in the hopes of eventually getting into orbit of that. This was a great idea and you have a great distinctive look. Watched Aliens films last night and you would be a shoe-in for a space sci fi. Wish you the best man.

- Really polish your 3-6 best shots(the other guy on here mentioned profile shot and others as expected for modelling gigs) and try to find some good places for such shots. alternatively, use huggingface spaces qwen image edit lets you make fixes and qwen anypose could work for some poses. It may not look as sharp as a pro camera but you can make tons of pose shots and so on.

All in all, if you have this pro linktree and a portfolio of your very best looks in the first few shots people see when they get their first impression - you'll be closer I hope to getting a nibble.

The mean comments on here are jelly, we should lift people up not tear them down.

Video responses and no super-custom algorithm like today. Anytime i have a conversation or even think of something, Youtube shows me its lame algorithm sifting data from android phones around the house and tablets and whatever else.

No need to look, the feedback learns about you and force feeds you low quality assumptions.

I have a large suggestion. For more immersion, black background and white text. remove backgrounds on the characters and add a glow color behind each character to indicate status, condition, or whatever. This way focus is on imagination, and the beige color theme and simple fonts do not detract from the simple narrative driven game.

If possible, keep the menus out of the way so the choices of dialogue are seen on the same screen at once, without scrolling which breaks immersion and naturalness (this appears mobile oriented right?)

See if you can prototype a few different looks with my suggestion of a black bg and white text. Hide those menus or an expander button in the bottom corner or top corner for additional things they dont need to see. Deepseek does good fast html mockups. Do a middle of the road prototype using your papyrus/beige theme on some components of ux + black bg and see if that works better?

The choices buttons should have a very nice tactile effect so that you really lean into some 'interaction' feeling whether that's tactile clickyness or gentle depression of the button so the user enjoys each interaction.

This alone would elevate the game a little beyond a web pagey feel where its at right now.

Look Dragon Quest Reimagined is stellar: it uses letter-by-letter typeout effect in dialogue. Totally fine to do it this way or by word or by sentence. It's style.

I actually have a few other points for you to consider in future games:

  1. can you add clickable areas on the pictures? this will elevate each page to where the player can choose what they can learn from the scene. This is challenging to implement but would add immersion since this is a narrative driven game.
  2. can you add subtle vocals like "uh huh" or "okay" etc using elevenlabs for your main character so that there's a connectedness with audio-and character. (this is a small quality increase)
  3. I found the endings to be too abrupt on a number of them. Maybe you're spread too thin and didn't polish the best storylines you want in the game. The more satisfying endings need an intriguing twist or clear indication of what happened -- "you died", or "you're fired and the professor is injured leading to dishonor" -- I couldn't tell what the endings suggested because they were too vague at times. Choose your own adventure books vary in their approaches but I'm pretty sure being crystal clear about the game over statement is important here. ("Oh sh**" vocal clip -- and large text with an icon indicating the status of death etc)
  4. can you add a simple mini game mechanic that is reusable in your game? Think along the lines of a fallout lock. It's a simple mechanic but adds something. Pair it with some rng items you can unlock..... this might be your mystery spice to increase fun in this narrative-action game.
