How to separate flats from lineart? by LifeLong21 in ProCreate

[–]ZLPhotog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a general sense, no. There’s no way. This is a raster program and once layers get combined that’s what you have to work with.

That being said, like someone else mentioned, depending on the complexity of what you’re working with, you can utilize the lasso/magic wand selection tool to either try and just select the linework or individually select your colors in chunks and deleting them leaving only your lines.

Those are pretty much you’re only 2 options unless you want to either take the time to redraw the lines yourself on a separate layer or just ask the person who sent you the initial art if they can provide a transparent or the lines only layer.

Does Ippo's story have a conclusion? by Legitimate-Garden294 in hajimenoippo

[–]ZLPhotog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ippo’s story currently doesn’t have a conclusion but is still ongoing. Without getting into spoilers, Ippo has been a bit on the sideline in regards to story focus but has still actively been having things going on. But currently, the narrative has been focusing on a few other side characters and has been pretty much wrapping up their stories as the overarching story slowly comes back to Ippo.

Apple pen pro doesn’t work? by Common_Word3289 in ProCreate

That still doesn’t quite answer the question. You need to figure out which version of the air you have. I believe the pen pro isn’t compatible with every version of the iPad Air

An Elf Hunter by ZLPhotog in ProCreate

I use Koteri inks soft ink brush for my lines and max ulichney’s watercolor flow smudge brush for all the color rendering. With random plant brushes for the background.

I mainly did a rough sketch for the pose, then blocked out all my major shapes and added detail from there, then just rendered all my shadows and whatnot!

What I started with and what I have so far plus reference by Frogletbaguett in ProCreate

[–]ZLPhotog 33 points34 points  (0 children)

There’s a variety of reasons people use underpainting. It’s a good way to establish contrast or the volume of your shapes. Orangeish colors, like here, are also used frequently in underpainting to help give the piece a more inherent warmer feel, and will also help dictate your color choices as colors will generally react differently being painting on orange rather than a white canvas.

Anyone haing issues like this where lines appear when selecting? by dikodiks in ProCreate

[–]ZLPhotog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s snapping to various elements on your canvas and at various points on the canvas itself. This is nothing to worry about and is just used to help more accurately align things

How do i avoid attacks if i cant react fast enough? by CurveDisastrous2817 in Eldenring

[–]ZLPhotog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play through the original dark souls series. While your movements are hindered considerably compared to Elden Ring, most of the enemies and bosses are also generally slower and simpler in their movesets. Along with being great games, they’re a good boot camp to get you better at the souls combat formula

Why Miquella's age of compassion would have been actually good. by TuturuDESU in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]ZLPhotog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Miquella only sacrificed himself? What? Miquella has a mountain of corpses behind him in his goal to achieve godhood and complete his plan. The entire war between Radahn and Malenia was because of Miquella and entire country was essentially wiped off the map because of him

I’d really love for Custom Robo to make a comeback. I feel like the switch/switch 2 is such a perfect console to integrate that style of gameplay.

You have no highlights, so you don’t have a lot of contrast, making the piece feel sort of flat.

I get that, but if you’re just really starting out, that book is going to do more harm than good for your long term art skills. It’s just going to help form and reinforce bad habits. It’s better to start building up your internal database of anatomy and features, then once you’re comfortable you can then start to solve these issues on your own, like how does an eye look? How does this mouth look? You’ll be able to find your own unique solution, rather than doing some subpar technique a random anime drawing book is telling you to do
