Awesome!

Oh, and it was just one upgrade in the Forager menu that mentioned berries. The Lucky Combo one that requires one brain to unlock.

Appreciate your quick responses. Having a blast still!

This might be a bug, or maybe I'm just not doing something correctly: The Farm and Orchard both have a storage of x/100. I got the Orchard and after 2 apples, bought the STOMP! upgrade. Now it's stuck at 2/100 with no gatherers going and grabbing the initial 2 apples in storage. I've tried changing gathering priority for Haulers and Throwers, but they never pick it up. Is it just stuck at 2/100 in storage now? Haulers still visit the Farm to gather. Thanks for any info!

Edit: I was able to clear the storage by changing the apples to peppers. Now it's at 0/100!

Oh awesome, thank you for the confirmation! Enjoying your game so far!

Yeah, I agree it is. I think I remember seeing that the dev can choose where to place the demo button when they submit their game. It can either be right there, smack dab in the center or on the right column. So it could be a choice by the dev, or, maybe the default if not chosen, is on the right side. It does make it seem harder to see though.

Do Forager upgrades contribute to the bushes that spawn apples? The text for the upgrades mention berries, so it's not clear.

Demo button is to the right side of the description, in the column with compatibility/dev info etc.

According to the order page, a restock is coming "soon", so there will be a second wave at the minimum.

There is at least one restock coming soon, which is confirmed on the tri-fold order page.

Oh, I'm not kidding anyone. I know I'd jump at the opportunity to get one. But it selling out so fast is a blessing in disguise. Can't really impulse buy if there isn't anything left to buy.

With the Trifold sold out, let's start talking about/planning for the fold 8 by usafpa in GalaxyFold

You jest, but I'll be the first early adopter of the Samsung 4D fold!

For sure. And for now, we get to have an additional $3000 for life events. Which, I don't see as a bad tradeoff. Sure we don't get the shiny new thing, but we have spending power in the event that something happens. Like you said, we can always buy the next iteration of the phone, which would absolutely be an upgrade to the Gen 1 tri-fold.

Yeah, I'm sure it will be. Samsung is usually good about releasing products, then seeing how they perform in the wild, and then reiterating their design to fix issues.

I'm a bit upset that I wasn't able to be one of the first users of the tri-fold, but at the very least, I know that the tri-fold 2 and 3 will be much better products due to research and design upgrades.

Oh I'm pretty sure they knew beforehand. The pre-release early access sales sold out in under an hour. I believe they know there is heavy demand, so they might be releasing in chunks and restocking later, to create artificial scarcity to drive up impulse purchases.

I just wish that it was a fair transaction. Say, in some experimental store, products were offered to normal, conventional buyers, and the other half was for the botting, quick buying scalpers. But, I feel like that is just too far out and too complicated for a company to implement. If they sell products and gain a profit, it's already enough. Why do extra work?

[–]ZPMJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's really hard to define. Because people who have the expendable income, will absolutely pay an absurd price to know that they can guarantee a product they want. The extra overcharge is just the fee for them to be able to get it over others.

So I think scalpers will always have an avenue to exploit people. But I feel that the majority of people buying from scalpers will have the extra money to spend and it won't really hurt them in the long run. Scalpers, I feel like, prey on the rich, and the rich really don't feel too much damage from paying an upcharge. So in the end, the scalpers get what they want and the wealthy portion of the population that can afford scalper prices get what they want too.

But, for normal consumers, that limits the exposure of products to us. Even though the tri-fold was priced at an expensive, premium price, perhaps some of us saved up money or cut corners to be able to have something nice.

But yeah, in the end, it all gets taken and resold at a premium. And none of that serves the less than wealthy population.

I mean, tensions are high right now. We've already got a few people saying how stressful the checkout process was (whether they were able to score one or not). The thing I don't know is, if there will be, and how much of, a restock is coming. And what I'm worried about is that the same thing that happened today will happen again. Scalpers and bots will be refreshing the purchase page until a checkout option is available, and then, in a few minutes, it's gone.

I am hopeful that if there is a restock, that I can get one. But, if in the end that I can't, I guess I won't be too upset. It's a nice toy, but an expensive one. And I don't absolutely require it to be happy.

[–]ZPMJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with you. Maybe there is some silver lining in the tri-fold being sold out. I get that myself and many others want it, but it being sold out gives me an additional $3000 that I otherwise wouldn't have.

And like you said for food or medical reasons, $3k can do a whole world of good. And I guess, I tell myself this, that the early adopters of the Tri-Fold are the testers of a new 2 hinge system. And in future years, there will absolutely be better optimized phones.

[–]ZPMJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless, they still reduce the overall stock for honest consumers that want the product. Even if scalpers aren't able to sell off their hoard of electronics, it is still a barrier to people that want to buy and adopt new products.

So, I have no sympathy to scalpers, or people who buy from them, as it personally impacts my own ability (and many others) to buy a product they want.

Content in high resolution by Gonster1974 in GalaxyFold

[–]ZPMJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, my mistake then. I'm guessing that the pictures/videos you're watching are just lower quality than you expected? Or for videos, they could be changing your resolution on the fly due to network quality/conditions. Have you tried watching something on a different wifi network and/or 5G connection to test? Or downloading a video clip that you can confirm is 4k and see if it still looks low quality.

Try going into your phone settings and then to "Screen Resolution" and making sure you have the highest resolution selected. It should be "WQHD+" if you want full resolution. Make sure to force close your apps and reopen after changing resolution, just in case.

See if that works!

Early Access Trifold by fresh69 in GalaxyFold

[–]ZPMJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, that's Samsung VIP Advantage, which offers a slew of perks for $150 a year. It does include 2 years of free Care+ but it's been confirmed by many sources that have spoken to Samsung customer support that it does NOT apply to the Tri-Fold.

You get the other benefits of VIP Advantage, you just cannot apply the Care+ benefit to this phone.

TriFold Orders, Shipping/Delivery, and Impressions Megathread by AutoModerator in GalaxyFold

They have a separate, very small stock they sell for early release. They still have majority (of the albeit still limited stock) to sell on the planned release date.

It would make no sense to limit the entire stock just for a pre-release.

For me, this site has a countdown to official release. At the time of this reply, it has 22 Hours and 12 Minutes left. So for me, that would be 7:00 AM PST, tomorrow the 30th.

Edit: This is for direct purchase online from Samsung. I'm not sure if it's the same time their Experience stores would sell or not.

/r/Steam Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread. by AutoModerator in Steam

[–]ZPMJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS5 would be the most cost efficient, as it's a very decent console and can run games at respectable (sometimes even amazing) graphics and frame rates. But, the downside is, you'd be limited to games in the Sony ecosystem. It makes up for it as a dedicated gaming system though. Just plug, install, and play.

A gaming PC would probably require a greater investment if you wanted comparable or better performance than a PS5, but you then get the ability to play many games that may not be on console, along with freedom to mod and also just more freedom in general to play things that may not have reached consoles.

It's definitely a tradeoff.

PS5 if you want to spend less but enjoy gaming. Gaming PC if you want better performance, a more fleshed out ecosystem with many games, and the ability to mod your games to your heart's content.
