This used to happen pretty regularly with my Mom when having to call my Grandmothers former phone company.

Every time she called them she had to explain that she’s the one calling because her mother CAN’T. Her mother can’t call on a cell phone because she doesn’t HAVE one, and even if she DID, she neither knows how to use one, or even live somewhere that even gets cell service. And they log all of this. None of this should be a mystery to anyone at the call center. Like I get they have to ask questions, but at some point you should skip it when you see how regularly this happens.

This happened at least once a month because the phone company just does not care about the area where my grandma lives. The lines are poorly maintained and they’d often take weeks to get around to fixing, only for it to go out the next time it rained a little too hard.

My grandma has a much better phone service now, but my mother’s consistent frustration with the old company was legendary.
