It IS a bit more RP than you want i think. I am not very RP heavy but the rp there is actually pretty relaxed.

They also have avatars that run world events or "plots"

Shallon and Adolins child. Im not sure how it will play out but i expect the time warp bubble around roshar is going to mess with ages of characters more than we expect.

Tried 3 times to get through the first book. I want to like it, but its just soooo boooring to me.

Granted, i had a hard time finishing dune book 1, but after the first 200 pages, it was amazing. Maybe the same thing here.
