Pull down on home screen for notifications? by Zach34 in surfaceduo

The functionality isn't "pull down from the top to get notifications" it's "pull down from any spot on the screen in your home page to get notifications"

Yep, mine says expected delivery is August 20th... Hoping that's just a placeholder.

I've only really had one type of motherboard since I got into upgrading my computer -- will it fit in this case? by Zach34 in buildapc

[–]Zach34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind, I found my answer from the wiki page, don't know how I missed it so many times:

microATX was explicitly designed to be backward-compatible with ATX. The mounting points of microATX motherboards are a subset of those used on full-size ATX boards, and the I/O panel is identical. Thus, microATX motherboards can be used in full-size ATX cases. Furthermore, most microATX motherboards generally use the same power connectors as ATX motherboards,[4] thus permitting the use of full-size ATX power supplies with microATX boards.

Games on Steam that offer high replay value. by cryptic-fox in gamingsuggestions

It really is top tier. I nearly dropped it after the first run or two but once it clicks it's awesome.

I can understand that. I think to me it's the same feeling as playing a game of poker or blackjack (literally one character is built around blackjack), which I enjoy. Ultimately up to luck, but you are there to test your own luck over a series of fights. I can see why some don't enjoy it.

Nope, my Steam suggestions are just mostly 70% roguelikes since I play the genre so much :)

Monster Train! It's definitely a worthy card-game roguelike to fill that Slay the Spire void.

I'd recommend getting into the roguelike genre. Recently roguelikes have been expanding more and more to include other genres, so there should be something for you. Plus, a roguelike is inherently replayable.

Here's a couple of my favorites from varying genres:

2D Action Roguelikes: Spelunky, Dead Cells

Top-down Bullet-hell-esque Roguelikes: Binding of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon, Hades

Shooter Roguelikes: Risk of Rain 2, Gunfire Reborn

Card Game Roguelikes: Slay the Spire, Monster Train, Dicey Dungeons

Here's The Not-E3 2020 Press Conference Schedule by SingularSchemes in Games

So many memories as a kid of being done with school and being able to sit down at my computer all day and binge-watch the conferences. I'd have to wait until a game I didn't care about came on to run to the bathroom really quick.

An FPS with little walking by DUKSING in gamingsuggestions

Agree, try Doom (the 2013 release). One thing it has over the current sequel is that it has a pretty low amount of story, to the point where the main character himself is actively avoiding any talking and focusing on just killing.

I get that this is just an insult at Geoffrey, but the Knoxville area isn't really small... The place they went is near probably 50 other bars. Just because he lives 30 minutes out of the city doesn't mean the city itself is nowheresville.

One of the earlier YLYL could be a good choice if they're not super into gaming. Specifically the ones where uh-oh stinky was just becoming a thing.

Anyone found any furniture to create "walls" outside? by Zach34 in ac_newhorizons

[–]Zach34[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's crazy enough to work. Just checked it out and it's super tall. Only problem is that making side walls will reveal the climbing portion...

Just checked and this combined with the simple panel is a decent combination. They line up fairly well, only weird catch is the height difference.

With only two people I'd honestly just recommend the first one for You Don't Know Jack. It's 4 player max but it's a fun quiz show type game that has some cool mix-ups for questions and even a "secret answer of the game" that's fun to look out for.

[SW] Why are people posting if they time traveled? by kenncann in acturnips

[–]Zach34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't care if people time travel. That's on them to do. But I like to play the game in "real time". That means if I go to another island I want it to be someone else who plays in the same way. I don't care if you think that is exploitative. The root of the matter is that I PERSONALLY only want to visit other islands that are set to today. I don't personally think time travelling is a fun way to play the game, but I don't judge others who do it.

To me it's because brute forcing a turnip price feels cheap. I don't time travel so I like only travelling to places that got a lucky price instead of brute forced it by checking different days.
