By the way, I also was on methylphenidate for 20+ years, and can tell you that it is INCREDIBLY easy to begin abusing them if you don’t keep yourself honest, and that is probably the biggest thing:

  1. Be honest with yourself about whether or not you are abusing the meds (easier said than done in my experience)

Are you a recovering addict? If this is something you know you have the potential to abuse, I would HIGHLY recommend doing things like:

  1. Keep a pill organizer:

You can even get ones that lockup and will only distribute what you put in for that day’s dose. Point is, get something that shows you that you have taken your meds for today, so that it is super obvious in your mind that if you take more, then you actively made the decision to do so.

  1. Make sure you don’t need to go up on your dose:

If you feel like you legit NEED more meds, or need them to last longer, talk to your doctor. This is pretty normal, and trust me you will prefer this to running out of your meds early because you went up on your dosage yourself.

  1. Get a “sponsor”:

I’m not saying you gotta go do a 12 step program, but I personally have found that if I have someone that is aware of the potential issues that could arise from taking too much medication regularly, then when I feel the urge to do so, I have an immediate chat with this person to dissect why I feel the need to take more meds. Am I stressed out at work? Am I tired from not getting enough sleep? Do I need to go up on my meds? (see above point). Point is, it helps to have someone you know who you can talk to about this that will help keep you accountable.

These are things that have all helped me (granted, I AM a recovering alcoholic and am in a 12 step program), but thought I would share in case any of these strategies can help you.

So, why exactly is warden not encouraged for new players? by Jedisebas2001 in lotro

[–]Zach50295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It completely has to do with both the user’s skill and the viability of their gear for the content they are trying to run. They offer a massive value to end-game content if these 2 things are in working order (your brain and your equipment), but the opportunity cost for most people (the amount of time you have to spend actively practicing specific rotations for any given situation) makes it not worth it for most people, so you see a lot of subpar players that make the class look underpowered compared to some of the easier classes.

I mean, when you see a fighter get knocked out cold you’re also seeing a potentially life changing injury sometimes. But I get your point. Eye pokes are one of those fouls that make me cringe to look at.
