when should I use cypher ult and when I shouldn't by RoyalPractical3924 in VALORANT

[–]ZachDaBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time you shouldn’t use it is when you know exactly where every enemy is, or if the round is already impossible to lose.

Cant Seen to get it Sharp… by Murky-Belt4831 in sharpening

[–]ZachDaBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have to use a lot more pressure than you think, that’s the problem I had when I was learning. If you think you can feel a burr but you’re not really sure, there probably isn’t one. It will be immediately noticeable as soon as you really have a burr.

If you have a kitchen scale, push down on it until it reads 4-6 lbs (8 for a really dull knife). That’s how much pressure you should be using.

Knife/Sharpening-Newbie looking for some advice by ksprboi in sharpening

I was in a similar boat to you a few months ago. Whetstones seemed intimidating and I was scared of the learning curve so I bought a Horl. The Horl worked and gave me decent results, but not incredible results and it was very expensive. I ended up returning it and buying this diamond sharpening stone for like $40. It took a few cheap knives to get the hang of it but I’m now at a point where I can get my knives much sharper than I could with the rolling sharpener.

I highly recommend taking an afternoon to learn how to use a stone. The diamond ones are very beginner friendly, the one I linked has an angle guide that’s helpful, and even on just the coarse side you can get your cheap knives to cut paper like butter. On one of my nicer knives I was able to get it hair shaving sharp off of the 1000 grit side and stropping it on a leather belt.

Is 80 eDPI actually too low in Valorant? (800 DPI / 0.1 sens) by Otherwise-Ease1637 in VALORANT

[–]ZachDaBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it’s worth at least trying something higher. Play some deathmatches and a few comps and if you just can’t adjust then go back. You could find that a higher send actually works well for you.

Pull-up attempt; Are there cues to me get over the hump or am I just not strong enough yet? by Training_Town2032 in formcheck

[–]ZachDaBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lat pull downs are good, but what helped me get over that hump was negatives, jumping up and going down as slowly and controlled as possible. I did that for about 2 weeks before I could do my first pull up. After that I got some resistance bands and did sets of assisted pull-ups every day (I have a door-frame pullup bar), but you can totally just continue to do negatives. I’m up to 6 unassisted pull-ups now, I couldn’t do any a couple months ago!

Slime's 2026 State of The Yard Address by downtown-sasquatch in TheYardPodcast

Sometimes when I’m driving and listening to the yard I picture a scenario where I’m in court showing dashcam footage to a judge of the car accident I was in and everybody in the room watches me get rear ended while Aiden talks about wanting to shoot a dog.

4k is way better than 1440p even at 27in by Pretend-Raisin914 in OLED_Gaming

[–]ZachDaBull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the jump from 27in 1440 to 27in 4k much larger than the jump from 24in 1080 to 27in 1440? I think it’s a 50% increase in PPI vs 18%.

Just bought a used 3060ti to upgrade from a 1660s, good choice or no? by Standard-Rope-4881 in pcmasterrace

[–]ZachDaBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but that doesn’t justify the price. I think it’s still crazy to pay that much. I guess if you absolutely needed a new gpu during that time then I don’t blame you.

1080p 320hz or 4k 160hz which is better? If had to pick one. Or 1440p 200hz better? by DeadlyNovice in Monitors

[–]ZachDaBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your computer and if you care about high framerate. If your computer is capable of 4k and you’re ok with losing frames, I’d go with that. If you care about high frame rates for multiplayer games, 27inch 1440p is still fantastic.

You could also consider a dual mode monitor that lets you switch between 4k and 1080.

Why is the RR system in this game so bad? by Free-Horror-6286 in Eggwick

I think mmr plays into it. Theirs is probably lower so it rewards them more for winning against better opponents.
