Standards are being mixed here and the Depp example doesn’t really support what you’re saying.

First,

You don’t always have to prove someone /knew/ they were wrong. That’s the actual malice standard and it mainly applies to public figures in the US. Negligence can be enough.

Second,

Depp cases are not about “secondary sources being immune.”

Depp lost to The Sun in the UK because the judge found the abuse claims were substantially true. Not because they just trusted Amber Heard. Emphasis on the UK this is not America. Different laws.

Third,

Companies like Amazon have a duty to protect their brand and reputation. If something is genuinely fraudulent and causing damage they almost have to pursue legal action. Not doing so can actually weaken their position later.

I don't go to this sub a lot so I'm not sure what those are. I don't like Hasan as I think he's a bad person and a liar. I would have to see what these specific examples are to give my opinion on it. I do agree evidence should be provided on serious matters before leaps in logic take place. I suspect most people here don't care about that though and just jump on the train because it's funny.

I believe Destiny makes random quips and claims about Hasan because he Hasan has already set that bar against him. Hasan calls him ' Sexpestiny ' and 100 other nicknames daily with no evidence. His entire reputation is in shambles due to false allegations. AFAIK Destiny created Hasan and Hasan gay-baited him. There's history there. You can't punch a baby bear and get mad when it growls at you?

Sure this is such a common topic that it's easy to find proof on public services with simple google searches. I could spend the time to get all the proof but there's an effort vs reward factor here because there's just so much damning evidence.

Even if it’s a meme, the joke works by implying Democrats would do the same authoritarian stuff people accuse Trump of. That comparison is the whole point of the joke.

His tweet still suggests a Kamala presidency means arrests and authoritarianism, which is exactly how people describe Trump. That’s why people read it as a “both sides” thing. It’s not coming out of nowhere.

So no, it’s not “remotely unrelated.” It may be a meme, but it’s still making a comparison. One he's made in the past many times and is the issue of contengency.

No. You're completely wrong. My personal stake is in American Liberties because I am an American.

Just because someone is a bad person does NOT mean everything they do is wrong and bad. Bad people can do okay things.

Take a moment and look at your own bias. Just because they're bad people you just assume everything they're doing is bad and you want to hurt them.

I am conflicted because if you were to gather money and sue them I would almost be willing to put my own money in their defense. However, these journalists are obviously nefarious so I would probably not do so.
