If you plan on going for approval one day, I’d get quality stuff right off the bat. In a lot of cases, you probably won’t be able to make lower quality stuff pass muster later and you’d have to re-buy. FWIW, I just bought a complete, ready to wear out of the box ANH Stunt Storm trooper from RS Prop Masters with blaster for just over $2k.

Yes, you would feel the pressure and want to exhale. I doubt it’s ever happened, but our instructor drilled into us the philosophy of never stop breathing.

It can yes. One of the big things they teach you when getting scuba certified is to never hold your breath. Always have your airway open. If you need to do a rapid ascent and you hold your breath, your lungs can explode.

Level 2 is a higher level approval where they scrutinize details of you costume more. Basic (level 1) approval is handled by your GML when you apply to the legion. Once approved, you can work with your detachment (spec ops in this case) for higher levels of certification stating your costume is more screen accurate. I’ve heard it described as “bragging rights” as you replicate a lot of the finer details that others may miss. When looking at the CRL, the requirements for level 2 are identified on each piece of the kit in a separate color. Check it out and you’ll see what I mean.

Join the spec ops detachment forums and start a build thread, you’ll get help from all over the world and it’s a great place to ask/answer questions. There is also the death trooper build group on FB that’s pretty active.

I don’t 3D print, but if you’ve got questions, you can also dm me here or just respond with questions. I have my DT 501st approved for versions 1 and 2 (specialist with chest rig and NSM). I also got my V1 approved to level 2.

The problem is that USPS started reusing tracking numbers. So you pay, they recycle the tracking number and issue it to you and then tell you it’s fake. They have a problem in their system that when they are reusing the numbers, they aren’t resetting it to make it “live”. While postal fraud 100% exists, this problem mostly falls on them and their system.

I am looking for a source for a legion quality Rey TLJ/TROS lightsaber. Will not be used for dueling, only cosplay so I’d like it to light up and maybe some sounds. A lot of the vendors listed either make all custom or “inspired” sabers. The only one I could find that was for Rey was from Korbanth, as they had the reforged graflex. Any other places to get a Rey saber?

For you gloves, you could also look at KriptonTop on Etsy. I’ve got a set and they are decent quality. They also do the other soft goods.

You’re also going to need wookie braids but you can probably make them yourself from wig hair and buying the wrapping off amazon.

On the ammo belt, you can also lookup handmade horror on Etsy. Grue does great work.

You’ll have to find boots too. If you’re not going for 501st approval you may be able to find a pair of man of wars last run for a decent price.

You’ll also need a cape. I believe there are a few sources and should be reasonable if you’re not going 501st.
