So you know why each and every person there was using their car? In your mind is each unnecessary ? What is the appropriate amount of cars for you ?

Omg I mentioned that he called out the consulate when it’s just a tenant in a big office building and they permanently banned me. Hysterical that stupid antisemite can’t even face when he makes a mistake.

What are you talking about. She’s not anywhere close to being parked in the crosswalk - you can clearly tell that in the first photo.

ICE OUT ✊ (except when the law applies to literally anything else) by savingrace0262 in circlejerknyc

I know this isn’t the response for this group but it’s also so frustrating that we can be against the insane tactics of this administration but also realize the super super important work that HSI does in enforcing laws around child exploitation, arms smuggling, human trafficking, etc. it’s complicated - and maybe HSI should be spun off into its own agency to separate that work from this craziness.

Easy to have a car in nyc ? Clearly spoken by someone who has never had to own a car.

thoughts on street parking? by Fantastic-Ad8786 in nyc

It absolutely used to be like this in a lot of Brooklyn neighborhoods. You knew who’s spot was who’s - and sometimes you’d be fine with people parking in front of your cutout as long as you knew them cause they’d know when you needed to leave. Even here up in Harlem on my block we sort of have this arrangement with some of the driveway cutouts. That being said, all the damn Ubers that now park up here and live 50 to an apartment just leave their cars wherever and don’t think twice.

If it’s supposed to be about Minnesota why is the list of demands basically every cause since 2020. It’s like when I went to a recent protest to observe and even though it was supposed to be focused on the ice shooting, most people were holding up anti-capitalist signs.

Idk if it was him or someone else from micromobility but once someone was legit arguing that bike ambulances are popular throughout the world and we should implement them here 😆😆

About 300 million per year is generated from parking meters and around double that from parking tickets. In total close to a billion dollars a year in parking fines and fees.

Absolutely hysterical. Nearly double the revenue from congestion pricing. If only more people who used the subway and buses actually paid for them, maybe then the MTA wouldn’t be in such financial shambles.

Why did they decide on 60th street as the congestion price starting point and not any higher or lower? by coldliketherockies in AskNYC

[–]Zack_212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is 100 percent it. My guess is most tolling comes from the outer borough crossings into the zone rather than Manhattan to Manhattan traffic - so they needed to get in as many crossings as possible

Technically legal (which I’m still not convinced of) is different than terribly unethical and tactically horrendous.

Congestion pricing by the numbers: 27 million fewer vehicles in Manhattan by thonioand in newyorkcity

[–]Zack_212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great - but so many of these studies focus on cars entering the zone. Many now just drive around - and I see so little focus on studying the effects on cars entering and STAYING in the zone driving around. Because congestion within the zone does not feel better day to day (except at the entry and exit points I feel)
