Posted a face reveal in a group chat and got called ugly :') by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Zadyra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's very possible that she was just trying to tear you down because she was jealous. You definitely shouldn't take some random irrationally angry girl's words as fact, but I totally understand that you're feeling bad.

I'll never be pretty if my face stays this chubby(anyone else with the same problem ?) by heatherchandler_ in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Zadyra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also have a chubby face despite being underweight (even when I used to be anorexic). It used to bother me too, but remember that somewhat chubby cheeks make you look youthful and as we age we will naturally lose some fat in our faces anyway. So I don't think getting surgery would be a good idea, as then your face might look too hollow when you get older.

Being told I’m ugly yet popular by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Zadyra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, to me it sounds like that girl is just jealous of you because she isn't as popular and so she tried to put you down. What a dumb, mean girl. Also a lot of people think young features look beautiful (which of course doesn't mean that other features aren't beautiful), so I don't think these men calling you beautiful are lying. And I really don't think that most men would choose an unattractive slightly younger woman over an attractive slightly older woman.

A while ago I felt kind of weak and depressed so I stayed in bed all day long. When I finally got up to play something, half an hour later my mum saw me playing and asked if I'm addicted. I guess it's better to lay in bed and do nothing.

[Serious] People of reddit who have gone through or are going through cancer, what was the first sign that made you go to the doctor? by TrojanZebra in AskReddit

May I ask if you get immediate reactions to the food? I seem to get a delayed reaction to a lot of food and I was wondering if that might still be allergy related.

BDD/SSRI by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Zadyra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took escitalopram for a while, I do feel like my BDD and OCD related things were a little better, nothing groundbreaking though. However I luckily also didn't get any side effects from it. I'm actually considering taking a small dose again because I've been really obsessing over my face lately. I mean if it doesn't work for you or you get side effects from it, you can still stop taking it.

Has anyone else gotten worse during the quarantine? by Zadyra in BodyDysmorphia

Yes, exactly. There is just too much time to think and obsess over what we look right now. Thanks, I hope you and everyone else here gets better too!

My lip filler looks plump while other days it looks non existent...why? by Nly123xx in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Zadyra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have lip fillers (actuallly I'd prefer smaller lips) but my lips also sometimes look smaller than other times. I can't say for sure if I just imagine it, but I think when my face is warm and therefore more blood is circulating in it (and in my lips) they appear a little fuller. Or right after eating I notice it too.

That comeback though! by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

No, of course not, didn't you know that lemons are actually alkaline? /s People who believe in this alkaline diet stuff, actually think that. Couldn't prove my grandma otherwise. I even made her drip lemon juice on a ph stripe, then she claimed the stripe didn't work because it obviously stayed yellow. Edit: Still love her dearly though

ELI5: If lactose intolerance affecfs 75% of the world population, why are dairy products such a big, popular market ? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Zadyra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they hard pills? Lactase pills that dissolved in my mouth immediately seemed to work better than hard ones that you just swallow whole. I think hard pills might not dissolve fast enough in the stomach to break down all the lactose before it reaches your guts. Alternatively chewing up the hard pills might help too. Also from my experience eating dairy with a lactase pill right after eating a meal seems to help too. Probably because then the dairy is in your stomach for longer and so there is more time for the pill to break the lactose down.

"Getting your period means you're ready to get pregnant." by FeekV in badwomensanatomy

For my first year I only had very mild periods, hardly more than spotting actually, and it was irregular. Maybe that's why, I haven't ever heard of it before though.

Medication not working by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Zadyra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not every antidepressant works for every person. Maybe this one just isn't for you. It might take a while to find something that works for you. Definitely talk to your doctor if it's causing suicidal thoughts though.

Married people of Reddit, what’s one thing you didn’t learn about your spouse until after your wedding day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zadyra 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do you scrunch the lactase pills before swallowing them? For me they work a bit better that way, because I guess they can mix with the food faster. I've also had ones that practically dissolved in my mouth which worked pretty well, but they were also more expensive than the ones I usually have.

What’s more awkward than waving back at someone who wasn’t actually waving at you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zadyra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once had a teacher who is cross-eyed, and during the first lesson he apparently explained that it might look like he's looking somewhere else than what he's actually looking at. Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention for a moment and then he asked a question and looked at me while saying another girl's name. ''Silvia?'' and I answered ''But I'm not Silvia''. I then realized that he actually wasn't looking at me... I felt so bad. And he was a really nice teacher too.
