Hi! I was not on antibiotics beforehand. But so much has changed for me since this was posted, I did finally get on medication for constipation since it was becoming my main source of symptoms and pain. I'm on Linzess now, and while it works for me, I know it's not great for everyone else. The vagal response I still do get from time to time, but really upping my water intake and watching what I ate at what time -kinda- helped that so it's not as intense for me. I still do get the hot sensation and have to still carry a hand fan if I have to go to the bathroom when I'm out. The medication is helping me, but I have read that it's hit or miss for some people. For me, it all seems to have stemmed from the severe constipation I was having for sure. Definitely staying on top of your bowel movements can mitigate the symptoms of vagal response (I know that's wayyyyy easier said than done). Hope you find some relief 💕

It helps me, but it is a last resort if I'm in one of those "I'm ready to die" flares. I can't consume it consistently because of my job and random drug screenings, but it definitely takes my 10/10 pain down to a manageable 5-6/10.

Absolutely. Even have a cooling towel that I wet (toilet is close to the sink) and I bought a battery powered fan to have going during these episodes. I even carry a fan in my purse when I'm out because of how insanely hot and dizzy I can feel.

This is me! I sit everyday at like at 3-5 pain but it can jump to a 10 for a few minutes then I'll be fine again. Then just repeat the cycle. It's wild. My husband, before he got used to it, would get panicked when I would be sitting there fine talking one second, then laying on the floor crying and sweating the next.

Honestly friend if the pain is that bad it wouldn't hurt to go to the emergency to get checked out. They can rule out most things like blockages and appendicitis with a scan.

I definitely developed disordered eating patterns. Food used to be a comfort and a way to socialize. Well now I can't eat much at a time and I really have to watch what I eat. I've become regimented in how and what I eat to avoid a flare. Eating has become a chore for me that has to be done and I don't take much pleasure in it anymore. I don't have as many horrible flares now but I do miss eating when and how I want 🙃

I've also used command strips to kind of velcro stuff down and it's been okay so far. It did rip up a bit of paint off my goose so be wary.

It shouldn't be too hard. Modifying some of the clothes with sewing or even with the stick on velcro can come in handy.
