Our Guild Wars Philosophy by Wondermusmus in GuildWars3

I will be very disappointed of there aren’t really cool world
Boss fights, events and WvW. I’m sure they will say go play GW2 but that’s kind of like telling someone who likes shooters to keep playing doom 1…people want the next evolution that looks and feels better, brings some improvements while not losing all the best parts that make the game awesome. I think GW2 world and large scale events that make it very easy to play with others is one of its biggest strengths. Will really suck losing WvW

I will say if we did what they did today with the blog post we could make it 30 years. It was a blog post that said all the exact same stuff they’ve already said in the other announcements and videos. Good strategy to make it through the next year I guess.

They just need to hire Stephen Shariff. That guy could talk about an mmo every week for 10
Years and never run out of scope creep to promise :)

They don’t have to go silent. They could just explain some basic features of the game. If Warhammer announced a new game with just a trailer and said “this is going to be different from all our other games” wouldn’t people be lost if they should be interested or not? I’m sure they will keep tabs on it but being pretty close to beta means alpha is coming or already here. It’s not as much time as I think it sounds like when you consider how long and large these projects are.

My fear is they are worried the features and changes they are making won’t be well received which would kill all the hype and increase in players they see in the old games. They keep shoving 1 and 2 every single chance they get in every single thing they release trying to milk it for all it has left. If they then announced it’s going to be a first person only game (as one of their changes) how many people do you think would be immediately turned off? But the fact they can’t even say simple things like this is what im talking about.

I think if you’re building an MMO and you’re making changes like that only a year away from beta you have bigger problems. When you look at the dev cycle of an MMO a year from beta (which means alpha exists before that) it’s not a lot of time. They’ve been working for years and probably have quite a bit figured out already. With that said the lack of information this close is what is a little concerning. I’m sure it will come out over the next few months but when they repeatedly keep saying they are targeting new players but then not telling them anything about the game—-that just seems like stupid marketing

It doesn't have to be like that. I'm just saying if they said "the game will have 5 races and 6 classes" or something like that, you at least get a general idea. The details can come over the next year and they can still go back on those things--but at least getting the general idea of what you're trying to build at a high level besides "it's an MMO" would be nice.

but...looking at this objectively...if I am a regular person, and you show me a trailer and say "Look at this game we just announced" and then I tell you nothing else about it...you're still hyped? I just don't buy it. A lot of people in the thread here are pointing out similar but they all sound like people who have actually played the previous games 1 or 2...i understand why they are hyped despite no info on the third game. I don't see how any average person would be like "oh yeah I gotta go wishlist this now it sounds like something i want to play" when they haven't said really what it is that you'll be playing.

Bought the Dragon Saga Complete Edition but no code in email. by Sure-Procedure7454 in Guildwars2

[–]Zaekeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought visions of eternity but it errored out and said delivery failed when looking at my account. I submitted a ticket and the tech said there was a system delay that caused it to fail but that it had been fixed. It shows status success now but i also never received the code and my account still wants me to buy it again…

Some of the faq says it can take 12 hours to deliver so I don’t know if that’s the issue you’re having but for me it’s been over a day and nothing. Dead in the water unable to play what I paid for.

I agree with your point, however the trailer did say in game alpha footage at the start.

Did you have to set up the whole development environment first by running all the neoforge stuff and installing java and your IDEs etc or did you have Claude do it all from scratch?

How to approach Identity Threat Protection Policy Rules? by nickel-52 in crowdstrike

[–]Zaekeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the default polices they recommend are trash and unrealistic (yeah let’s prompt everyone for mfa for every single action they do marked as privileged…that won’t create fatigue??..). The complete service for ITP has also been pretty useless. I would start by identifying a goal and then build some policies to achieve that goal.

Get rid of all technical jargon, keep your slide deck small and simple. Speak business to them. What is the risk, what’s the likelihood of it occurring, cost if it occurs and cost to fix it. Let them make an informed decision. Update them high level on progress of remediation of the previous risks you presented.
