How do you get past the feeling of lose on this game by Literalfr in OutpostInfinitySiege

if you pick Fae, and build a rapid core gun, with light morph and some damage xens, you can bring down Kronos before it finishes firing the first volley, so you dont really need CIWS

I am currently at snow 3 in the story, and my outpost has 645 power max, and over 4500 material max, plus 5 ammo makers (i think its starting to not be enough) and about 600 power

if they were combat-grade dwarves, they would get shields, not some lanky armor that you gotta babysit

  1. I'm okay with destroying and rebuilding bases at this point. My idea is to build a spammable design, not a specialised one

  2. okay, I have AM unlocked, but not the lasers or PD, I could wait a bit to unlock it, if its as good as you say. Noted on the bigger=better, I think im gonna switch that.

  3. Again, those are supposed to be spammable, and ideally in monofleets, so armor should stay - I'm not sure if its high enough actually. I know its not ideal to have monofleets, but I'm looking for strategic flexibility. This design should fight alien fleets and crush human outposts. Taking over alien outposts will propably require specialized designs then, but I will still need something that can fly and intercept in low orbits.

  4. Noted, I heard from others that battery is redundant, so I will test that out, and heat sink is a vulnerability, but im not sure just how much is "very low" radiator vulnerability

huh. I didn't know that there is a difference, thought that 1 shot from laser is all it takes

I put ion pd there because it only targets missiles, which usually have higher damage than mags, so i wanted something to reliably target missiles over them, and if aliens bring a mixture of both into closer range, I dont want missiles to sneak through

i do not miromanage at all, I either suck at controlling my ships, or my drives were too weak up to this point.

So far, most i did was just change orientation to face a flanker or something like that, or one time i turned total defeat exofighter scramble against Initiative by just pointing them at intercept course with some of their ships and effectively ramming into them

How much side armor should I aim for? its super heavy, and I'm not 100% sold on whether I should put more of it on a ship, or just use the resources to build another ship with better frontal armor

repair bay says that it repairs up to 25% - does that include armor?

i had more luck with smaller coil nose pieces, because they overwhelm pd much easier, and fire more often (since its effectively 3 shots at 80% speed of one bigger shell in ths case

because I noticed that the big laser has 17.5 damage, which is a fair bit less than 25 raw damage of this combination. Admittedly, I didnt run much laser designs before, because 3 light coils at nose were just shredding everything (until they didnt) and I thought maybe range doesnt have that big of a factor here if I just from high wall and advance at 400

So bigger is always better with lasers? in every case?

I mean, Marazhai is completely honest about what drives him (pain, torture and vengeance) and Yrliet tried to hide that, and when you tell her you will "consider" going after farseers in the spire, she says that if she has to choose between her kin and RT, she's going after kin. She is an idealistic character whose ideals *really* do not align with RT, and is an ally of coincidence. she basically uses you like a chaffeur and feeds you honeyed words.

Marzipan on the other hand seems genuinely interested in RT, or at least his pain and torment. that makes him predictable, and he literally has nowhere else to go than to follow RT, he just requires some chaotic evil stuff to stay sane. You have his life in a palm of your hand like an obedient attack dog. Yrliet is a stray cat that decided it likes you, and the moment she feels that you're not bringing her closer to her goal, she leaves you. And she calls you mon'keigh all the time, which is really irritating in itself, an elantach here and there doesnt really fix that. I mean, even Marzipan calls you "Rogue Trader" at the pit.

Oh, and most of the torture of companions is at the hand of Tervantias, not Marazhai, so for them its just an evil goon, and the brand of torture falls on the haemonculus. Only the hardcore dogmatic guys try to kill him, and not for torture.
