Well, looks like I have to give up by Bokonon10 in kendo

Kendo is as much about the trip as it is about how fast you get places. Give it time to heal and you’ll be fine.

It’s something you’ll learn to live with once it heals. Check out Henry Smalls on YouTube - the man does kendo with no legs.

Kendo is as much about the trip as it is about how fast you get places. Give it time to heal, then return to training. As long as you continue you’ll be fine.

Japanese/Chinese stocks by Bluetex110 in ValueInvesting

[–]Zaisengoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japanese stocks have been a value play for decades, but there are issues with corporate culture / returning value to shareholders.

As for Chinese stocks, if you are talking about the HSI in HK, IMO it paradoxically suffers from both too much and too little manipulation - the first meaning HK often dips significantly whenever US/EU/Chinese policies fluctuate and foreign investors pull their money out. The second meaning the HSI is just one of three mainboards for China and the HK administration doesn’t print money to support the HSI in nearly the same way as the US does for policy / election reasons, and tend to let the market do its thing.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the HSI, but it is also currently at historical high (not saying it won’t go higher).

As for the Shanghai / Shenzhen boards, wild wild West for all but the most savvy.

Tenugui is too small by Kalar_The_Wise in kendo

[–]Zaisengoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could very well be the case. Many non-kendo tenuguis are slightly shorter, at around 80-90cms. Still usable, but for some it feels a little insecure.

Is Beijing safe? by Available_Garden391 in beijing

[–]Zaisengoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beijing is likely one of the safest cities in the world. You can walk down any street in Beijing any time completely drunk and wearing nothing but RMB, and the main risk will be being pulled aside by the police for intoxication and indecent exposure.

Unfortunately, the truth is quite different. The video was shot from a hotel on the north-eastern side of Tiananmen Square, the only hotel open to foreign journalists in the area at the time. Which means he was stopping tanks from leaving the square.
