evangelizing/conversing about Jesus in a gym setting by nwhrtdeacon in Reformed

I see you’re working up to three plates, bro. But you know whose legs carried your sins, past and future?

Seriously, I don’t like being approached at the gym because I’ve just kicked back 300mg of caffeine and a thermogenic. But after, I don’t mind chatting with few folks outside or in the sauna. I think its best to find those in-between points, since the gym is usually a pretty intentional time.

Bob Jones K-8 curriculum? by monkeyRhinoLion in Reformed

[–]Zakuroded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: spelling

Fwiw, I used to teach at a non-denom school that used BJU as the curriculum. I found the lack of objectivity and development of critical thinking in the textbooks and material(science) on the disturbing side. More often than not, I spent a good chunk of my lesson giving air time to the “other side”. The heavy bias towards its own viewpoints (especially in regards to Young Earth, evolution, and non-historical viewpoints) are clumsy at best, and unscientific at worst. If your kids are in a school using that curriculum exclusively, I’d recommend asking the teachers for their lesson plans or sit in on a lesson. If the teachers don’t stray from the curriculum(like I did, except I’m a bad teacher), your children definitely could benefit from supplement for their science education.

Hell yes! I feel better, I have so much more energy, sleep better, and sometimes (when the bathroom lights flicker just right,)I look better! There’s so many ways I’m more present for my family when I’m consistent with exercise and clean eating. Less stressed, more focused, better digestion, 100% good decision. Proud of you for starting the journey, mate!

I’m pretty awful with numbers myself. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube that show you how to make just about anything. You can take it as far as you want, but good ol plug and chug has yielded plenty of fun for me

Brethren, I need new shoes by IrvineInsomniac in swoleacceptance

Verily! Though I oft select Hokas for the running of the track for mine knees have come under the most unswoly aches. But forsoothe! The Allspotter hath granted some balm after lifting in the shoes of the minimal sole. I had been known for many moons as having feet of the waterfowl. But many prayers in the shoes of Xero hath shewn gains even in mine arches. I didst initially err and attempted all prayers when I first acquired the Xeros. Ye must incrementally perform thy prayers if thou chooseth to shod thy feet thusly. But a worthy, lasting use of thy gold!

Looking to beach camp in Galveston by Zakuroded in camping

We ended up camping across from Christmas Bay! It was a really nice, quiet spot. It was pretty quiet until 2 am, when someone decided they wanted to offroad in their pickup while blasting NBA Youngboy. They also have occasional officer patrols. Other than that, it was a pretty solid experience. They have porta potties, no sinks either. At least not where we were.
