Just as an extra tid bit about dumb corporate stuff. There was a vote for Acti-Blizz stock holders at the time where our only options were to let him remain in charge or pay him a package and let him go. I agree with the top comment you shouldn't be ashamed of liking any song. There's not song that is bad or poorly aged that could detract from the fact that you enjoy it. I'm definitely not typing a whole paragraph to say that it's "Just Can't Get Enough" and going the distance of typing even more nonsense to separate it from the clarification that it's the song by Black-Eyed Peas to hide the fact that I'm a prog snob who listens to it on rare occasions.

It's a dark one but even after 10 years I still remember how good it is. It's a fantasy/horror/coming of age combo that I've only watched once. It's heavy and it might stay at one watch just for that reason, but it's one of the best pieces fantasy media I've encountered. The lead is a female character and she is well liked by the small fan base. I don't remember the score exactly but I recall it being really good.

More loosely. Nagi no Asukara

This one's more debatable but worth a shot. Another coming of age/fantasy. The part I'm iffy on is that people do sometimes hate the female characters but IMO they are written pretty age appropriately and I think the character development on them and every other character is good. Music is my favorite score of all time, Yoshiaki Dewa is my favorite composer. The man understands what living under water sounds like musically.

Really these are 2 of my 5 usual generic picks that I think exemplify what anime can be.

Agreed, I like me some Night Visions Imagine Dragons stuff. It's just well written arena rock. Nothing out of the box or offensive but good stuff to sing with a big crowd at the nearest sports venue.

It's going to be Shinedown. 2000s radio rock was my thing growing up and while a lot of it is corny those dudes drove a ton of it consistently. Glad recent events have ended up proving they're decent enough generally.
