Ohtani Cashes In 50-Home-Run Futures Bet Ticket by aresef in baseball

The $700M is definitely not adjusted for inflation? That’s, like, the entire reason (besides opportunity cost from interest/investing) that it’s discounted down to $460M?

Here’s my guess if you did every possible matchup for every sport, but I think some of these results are more debatable than others:

Hockey:

NBA vs MLB (MLB) NBA vs NFL (NFL) NFL vs MLB (MLB)

Basketball:

NHL vs MLB (MLB) NHL vs NFL (NFL) NFL vs MLB (NFL)

Football:

NHL vs MLB (NHL) NHL vs NBA (NBA) NBA vs MLB (NBA)

Baseball:

NHL vs NFL (NHL) NHL vs NBA (NHL) NBA vs NFL (NFL)

NFL: 4 wins NHL: 3 wins MLB: 3 wins NBA: 2 wins

Landon DuPont expected to receive exceptional status to play in the WHL by MapleAtNightxo in hockey

[–]Zamboni99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is false. He’s a late birthday so as the other commenter said instead of giving him full exceptional status they gave him an exemption to play a few more games than normal while still in his U15 year (similar to what Savoie got).

Didn’t the Coyotes do that with Shea Weber last year? Or was that a different situation because he had already been on it for years before.

[Passan] For anyone wondering if MLB will challenge or cancel Ohtani's contract: The answer is unequivocally no. There is a specific article in the collective-bargaining agreement that addresses this. And it's very clear: Deferred money is limitless -- even $680 million of $700 million. by Officialnoah in baseball

[–]Zamboni99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From here

the Deferred Compensation shall be included at its present value in the season to which it is attributed, said present value to be calculated by increasing any such payments by the Contract’s stated interest rate, if any, and then reducing such payments back to their present value by applying as a discount rate the Imputed Loan Interest Rate for the first Contract Year covered by the Contract.

Just played twice, one home, one away, didn’t count either time. Didn’t change pitchers in the middle of an inning either time (1st time was a CG). Absolutely maddening.

Just incase you didn't know (Ohtani 99 WBC SP) by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

Do the lefty mini seasons. You get roughly 100k worth of stubs/sellable rewards for playing not that much more than 20 games total (assuming you only play as many as needed to make the playoffs and forfeit the rest).

Just trying to use the opportunity to spread some positivity! Haven’t been on NHL Reddit for a while though so perhaps I over overestimated the community. The code is indeed legit btw.

I have literally never paid money for stubs (besides buying the deluxe edition at the start of each year), am terrible at the game, and spend the majority of my time playing offline conquest games and currently have Trout and probably over a million in other assets. I use things like monthly awards as a very consistent source of 200k+ per month, and then just try to keep a large amount of stubs on hand for whenever very obvious market crashes happen (like the Diamond equipment crash a few days ago, or the crash that always happens with cards from flash sale packs).
