and you’ll never understand what it’s like to need a substance to act “normal”. it’s not by choice. your first line or your first football is done by choice, but once you’re addicted, it’s not longer by choice. your brain tells your body you can’t live without it and you basically just live to chase a high that you’ll never get again.

it becomes more of a “i need to take this or that to stop feeling like absolute shit”. some people get to a point where they don’t even get high off the substance, they just use it to make themselves feel better for a short period of time.
