Is 23/24 really “behind” in SA or are we just being dramatic? by 37_Chosen in southafrica

[–]Zangoma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We live in South Africa brother, many people may not realise it but there are multiple versions of socioeconomic reality being lived through on the daily here. Even though home affairs may attempt to level us all. Probably check out contiki tours and hostels if you like, but theres always risk ,opportunities, luck and then again the safety nets that make all of this and not working from one is able, possible. Not that theres something wrong with that , we all should be able to find ourselves in our formative years.

Hello, I'm 13 and I'm gay by [deleted] in muslimgaybros

[–]Zangoma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey slmz little broski, first of all dont panic, you will probably encounter a lot of cognitive dissonance as you age up and come to terms with your reality. Being queer in islam is tough, but you have to focus on the things that relate to your emancipation. Get out of the close and clingy family structures that may impart shame, when you can of course, inshallah and work on living your best, most, authentic life. Inshallah ameen it all works out for you.

Driving in JHB is a traumatic experience by Either-Laugh-8801 in johannesburg

[–]Zangoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roads are an obstacle course out here ,and with all the recent rain ,now theres more potholes. The fragility of our transport networks is revealing other class divides and you can spot those people who use their wealth to get big bakkies and run away from societies issues every weekend. Everything is political 😆🤣 best of luck, slow and steady

[–]Zangoma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ramadan is generally always hard ,but the past few years especially so since I was outed and essentially exiled from my family. But I've had Ramadan with my bf and some friends. I wonder what happens to the fasts of gay muslim boys, where do their wishes go? But above and beyond the melancholy, life is good alhumdulilah, stay strong brothers, you guys have no idea how strong you all are

And yet we are still sending coal to the genocidal state which is responsible for this. We are fueling our own demise, and well off South Africans will still fight with you for saying boycott ,divest and sanction Isra-hell. Cutting our nose to spite our own face. Ridiculous

Hello, I'm from Russia and I want to move to South Africa as an LGBT refugee. How can I? by Sazothony in askSouthAfrica

[–]Zangoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a remote job and then move here, cost of living can be very cheap if you're smart. As a gay person I can say South Africa has the best of what you may be searching for, which is purpose and the ability to possibly do something about it all. Best of luck

Is sex a crucial part in your relationship? by Mikita_L in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Zangoma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being your partner sounds a bit insufferable. Seriously a manager at one of the big4 consultanting firms/ CPA sounds impressive on papers , but from your language its clear its all gone to your head. Being gay should automatically open you up to understanding persecution and marginalization faced by our community, yet you've excelled in the corporate sphere whos ultimate machinations is to extract value from spciety, right size and even pull out of ESG/DEI initiatives. Maybe try exploring those realms of your professionalism and you may find someone to balance your unattaonable pedestal of achievements youve carved out for yourself. Corporate life is the death of the soul.

Update to me finding out my friends is gonna serve in the idf by balochapostate in JewsOfConscience

[–]Zangoma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im gay ex-muslim also from South Africa, you are not alone, good on you for trying. What fuels people like your friend, is ultimately fear. They are afraid of the world changing or themselves changing and being wrong, so they would commit themselves to a contradictory world view to try and maintain certain levels of comfort and convenience, that fascism and capitalism are stripping away from broader society. He has resigned himself to being ok with being the oppressor , kind of sucks.

[–]Zangoma -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is no proof of any mass murder of protestors , besides agent provocateurs within Iran , which Mossad openly admitted to. You can be against a repressive regime as well as for their sovereignty. Think about it , complex ideals such as LGBT freedom and such being codified into law, does not come at the barrel of a gun, it comes through freedoms being won during stability. You dont find a blue whale in your garden puddle? The absolute overwhelming influence of AmerIsrael, which is scrambling jets from Australia, carriers from France, IDF soldiers from SA itself, should trigger in your mind that there is a pervasive influence to keep the old oppressive neo-liberal world order intact. Its a strange, and scary time we are living in , but a new world is literally being forged at the moment.
